Mnesarchus of Tyre was a Phoenician merchant who lived in Samos and the father of Pythagoras

According to Neanthes of Cyzicus, Mnesarchus was a Phoenician from Tyre who went to Samos while there was a famine on the island to supply goods, explaining his acquisition of citizenship.[1][2]
