Major General Robert William Knights CBE, CB (24 June 1912 – ??? 1975) was an Australian Army officer and member of the last existing light horse regiments <citiation and more info needed>.

Early life[edit]

Born on 24 June 1912 in Canberra, ACT, Knights was educated at Telopea Park School, Canberra before undergoing officer training at RMC Duntroon **reference needed

Military career[edit]

Enlisted 26/10/1939[1] at the Victoria Barracks.


While in the AIF, was wounded in action sometime around 1941 [2]

Gentleman Usher to the Privy chamber 14 October 1958 to 5 January 1960


Awarded Officer of the Order of the British Empire in New Year's honours.[3] Awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire in New Year's honours.[4] at the time having the rank of Brigadier.

Awarded the Companion of the Bath in New Year's honours in 1969.[5] Left Army service on 24/6/1969.
