Raju Bista is a BJP candiate for 2019 Laksabha Election from Darjeeling, West Bengal. He is Managing Director of Surya Roshni Ltd., A company which deals in lighting and steel businesses. He is also active in Social work. Holding the post of Vice chairman in Surya Foundation, A research and development organization works among Youths Personality Development, Ideal Village projects, Promotion of Naturopathy a therapy, Think Tanks. Raju Bista is associated with Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) for 16 years. [1]. [2].

Biography

SEED OF THE DREAM The seed of his success was sown in the year 2000, when He joined an NGO to fulfill the deep rooted desire to work for the nation, build a beer future for each citizen to thrive and guide the youth of our country to reach their full potential. He excelled academically, pursued Executive Master Programmer in Business Administration with specialization in Marketing Management and was identified as a leader from a very early age by Mr. J.P Agarwal (Chairman of Surya Group). Today, He is the Managing Director at Surya Roshni Limited since October 2012. Surya has been able to successfully compete with Indian companies and Multinationals in the market place. Today Surya has 6 state-of-the-art plants and the products are exported to more than 50 countries with a turnover close to Rs 5000 Crore (775 million USD).

Early life

He was born in Manipur on 11 March, 1986. He perused his Primary education in Manipur. At the age of 10 only, He joined RSS. He Used to go daily shakha. He did ITC (Initial Training Camp of RSS) and then OTC-1 (Pratham Varsh) in Silchar, Assam. He took part in a Personality Development Camp organised by Surya Foundation somewhere in North East. From there he inspired to join Surya Foundation to do something for the Nation. In 1999 he joined Surya Foundation, New Delhi. After the completion of his Basic training. He was given the responsibility of Ideal Village project in North East region of India particularly in Manipur, Nagaland, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and Darjeeling. Chairman of Surya Foundation Mr Jaiprakash Agarwal was very impressed and based on his excellent performance, He gave him a big and Pivotal responsibility by making as head of "All India Ideal Village Project".

PIVOTAL MOMENT There are many pivotal moments that have taken place in his life. As we all know that hard work never goes unnoticed and so was He has acknowledged and appreciated. The turning point came at the beginning of his career when he was entrusted with the responsibility of managing the business worth Rs 3000 Cr by Group chairman Shri J.P Agarwal and was promoted as the Managing Director of the group in the year 2012. The business has been expanding and the retail network has enlarged to 2,50,000 numbers across India. His vision got the right guidance and developed during the early stage of his tutelage under Surya's chairman. It was twofold to yield profitable results for the Company and the expansion of its businesses. With the focus on expanding the business coupled with the right strategy, management skills and the right team, the Surya market capitalization has increased five fold exceeding Rs 2500 Crore.

His formula for success is following the 80:20 rule as a tool to maximize business efficiency and that is his sole mantra for success. He is always hungry for success but not 'impatient'. He has constantly evolved with him, because the world we work in and the working conditions are changing at a fast paced rate. He takes calculable risks in business growth. Work is not the same as it used to be and we are seeing dramas changes in both the behavior and technology, not just in our professional lives but also in our personal lives.When it comes to evolving the way He works, He looks at things from a different perspective and like to keep it simple. He believes in hard work, team building and result oriented approach. He believes that future management model is all about removing roadblocks from the paths of employees to help them succeed. This extends beyond just managing but to empowering and engaging them. Employees are the most valuable asset that any organization has. To get the best results, you have to know your customers and their needs. At the end of the day as a leader, you are responsible for delivering results. In the end, it is not about effort, but what is actually accomplished. It was established by Surya Foundation which was dedicated to the study of issues in National interest. 3. Work experience as a training head to train "Naturopathy Gramsevak " for rural youth for nephropathy, yoga to be given to rural areas and skill development. 4. In the state of North-East including Darjeeling, Sikkim, the experience of providing management and training in the "Personality Development Camp" from the year 2000, to create sanskar, ideals and patriotism in the young students. 5.Major role in Surya Foundation's 6 Cr Plantation in many states for the betterment of the environment. 6.Twenty years of travel experience in the form of migrant worker, for management and guidance of social activities in almost all the states of the country. 7. Women empowerment through self help group. 8. Important role in training for various electing like Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha in many states.
