Built with convoy protection in mind, The Grimsby Class Sloops were laid down between 1933 - 1939, and completed 1934 - 1940. First launched was HMS Leith, followed by Grimsby, Lowestoft, Wellington, Deptford, Fleetwood, Aberdeen, and for the Australian Navy, RAN, Parramatta, Swan, Warrego, and Yarra. [1]
