The 2022 Chengdu Hunters season will be the fourth season of Chengdu Hunters's existence in the Overwatch League.
Preceding offseason[edit]
Organizational changes[edit]
In early January 2022, Wang "RUI" Xingrui stepped down from the head coaching position, due to health issues, taking on an "honorary advisor" role within the organization. Additionally, former Shanghai Dragons assistant coach Kim "Jfeel" Jeong-min was picked up as an assistant coach.[1]
Roster changes[edit]
In early October 2021, the Hunters parted ways with tank player Ding "Ameng" Menghan, who had been with the team since their inception.[2] The following week, tank player Ma "LateYoung" Tianban was released.[3] In mid-January 2022, the Hunters sent damage players Zhong "TAROCOOK1E" Yunlong and Lei "Jimmy" Yujia to their academy team, Team Chaser.[4] The team made their first acquisition in mid-February, promoting damage player Li "Apr1ta" Yuanjinghao from Team Chaser.[5]
