Anonymous Animals (French: Les animaux anonymes is a 2020 French dark fantasy horror film written, directed, and edited by Baptiste Rouveure.

Anonymous Animals was written, directed, and edited by French filmmaker Baptiste Rouveure in his feature film debut.

Release[edit]

Anonymous Animals made its premiere at the Cinefantasy International Fantastic Film Festival on September 6, 2020.[citation needed] It later had virtual and in-seat screenings at Grimmfest on October 7th that same year.[1] It was screened the following day at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival.[2][3] ScreamFest would include the film in their 2020 lineup, screening it on October 11th.[4] The film was later screened on October 15th, at the Telluride Horror Show.[5][6] The film would later have a screening at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival, on November 11th.[citation needed]

In 2021, the film was released digitally in Mongolia and Poland on January 1st and April 6th, respectively.[citation needed] The Obscura Film Festival in Hannover, Germany would screen the film on September 2nd, having previously released the film theatrically in the country on May 13th.[citation needed] It would have its first theatrical release in France on September 23rd.[citation needed]

Reception[edit]

Anonymous Animals has not been widely reviewed by mainstream critics, with the few that have reviewed the film garnering it a mostly positive assessment.
