From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Last to servive is a urban art culture group also known as a crew, known for their murals and street scribe calligraphy across the Southern California metropolitan areas. In the early 80's Los Angeles, California was experiencing a boom in street art, preferably known as graffiti, but may have been considered vandalism if the property owner didn't authorize the painting. Nevertheless small pockets of cult art groups began to arise from the economically impoverished communities, similar to the social construct of New York and many cities across America. Unable to put a clear fingerprint on the influences every crew had, Last To Servive has a few people that inspired the art movement of Los Angeles and the world. Aerosol painted murals were the inspirations that informed the youthful art community to become united in this movement called graffiti art. "Soon" was a young artist from New York that painted the earliest aerosol works throughout Los Angeles, mid city and the beach cities. In the 60's and 70's Los Angeles had art groups that also painted murals with spraycans, however the paintings were not considered graffiti art. Graffiti art is a self authorizing expression of monikers, slogans and bold colorful patterns stemming from comic books, album cover art and traditional sign painting influences.
