Wyoming Highway 257 (WYO 257) is a state highway in Wyoming currently under construction as of 2012 as the Casper West Belt Route. .

Route description[edit]

Highway 257 will connect Wyoming Highway 220 with the west end of the Shoshone Bypass U.S. 20-26 in Casper with; this will provide a direction connection from Wyoming 220 to Interstate 25 for approximately 7.50 miles.[1]

Need for a new roadway around the west side of Casper has been discussed for many years and has been included in various local planning documents for years. [2]

The West Belt Loop would serve as a truck bypass route around the west of Casper. The current signed truck route is CY Avenue to Wyoming Boulevard to Business 20/26.
