Traoré Rokiatou Guikiné (born 1953) is a Malian diplomat and politician. She became Minister of Malians Abroad and African Integration in 2012.

Career[edit]

Traoré Rokiatou Guikiné was born 23 June 1953 in Toukoto, Kita Cercle in Mali. She studied for her Baccalauréat and then took a master's degree in economics at the National School of Administration in Bamako. She headed various posts of international cooperation before becoming a diplomat, being the Malian ambassador to Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe. She lived in Libreville in Gabon.[1][2]

In 2011, she was promoted to secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.[2] She became Minister of Malians Abroad and African Integration in 2012; in this role, she addressed the United Nations concerning Islamic extremism in Mali.[3]

Awards and recognition[edit]

In 2006, Guikiné received the Officer of the National Order of Mali and she became Commander of the Equatorial Star of Gabon 2009.[1]
