Pindolol, sold under the brand name Visken among others, is a medication used to treat high blood pressure and angina.[3][4] It is a less preferred treatment for high blood pressure.[2] It is taken by mouth.[3] Maximum blood pressure effects may take two weeks.[2]

Common side effects include trouble sleeping, dizziness, tiredness, swelling, joint pain, and itchiness.[2] Other side effects may include anaphylaxis, bronchospasm, and heart failure.[2] Use in pregnancy may cause a slow heart rate in the baby.[5] It is a nonselective beta blocker.[2]

Pindolol was approved for medical use in the United States in 1982.[2] It is available as a generic medication.[4] In the United Kingdom 100 tablets of 5 mg costs the NHS about £8 as of 2021.[4] This amount in the United States costs about 40 USD.[6]
