The first time I came across Wikipedia was in 2006 as I was searching the internet for some information about a perticular period in Egypt's history. While reading that entry, it provided a lot of good information but also contained some false statements, or at best incorrect statements. My belief is that a public resource should be as accurate as possible. So I started to edit that entry to the best of my knowledge. I was so impressed by the whole concept of Wikipedia and the wealth of free information it provides its users worldwide. Since then, I got addicted to using Wikipedia and its great resources.

My background includes a BS in civil engineering. I am also a licensed Professional Engineer P.E. in the State of Florida. I started my engineering career working for Egypt’s Department of Public Works from 1993 to 1997. I moved to the US in 1997 where I worked for small and midsize consulting engineering firms. I also worked for restaurants, boating assembly line, teaching, among other things. I love to travel and my travels took me to Turkey, the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, Germany, and of course Egypt where I was born and raised and the US where I currently live.

My most favorite subjects are history, science, social studies, and civil engineering (irrigation engineering in particular). I have been doing a mix of creating new articles, adding stuff that I think should be included, fixing what is wrong, trying to add the category tag to entries, occasionally looking at the VFD page which I learned about after someone put a page I had created on it. I have looked at the stubs for items I may know something about and tried to improve the articles. I have been doing this under the main Wikipedia in English and also at its Arabic version.
