Modesto F. Reyes-Canto (born July 24) in the town of Rancho Boyeros Habana, Cuba is a Humorous Writer, Short Story Writer, Screenwriter, Producer and Director for Radio, T.V., Film, and Theatre. The young writer at the early age of twenty (20) years old was recognized for the most important Newspaper in Cuba named “Pa’ Lante”. In 1988, Reyes-Canto was awarded two (2) ACCA awards as a Writer and Producer for the TV Drama Series “Los Inesperados” the Series also won seven (7) different awards in total, the Series was competing against many known series. Reyes-Canto Graduated from High School in Habana, Cuba and was given his own Radio Programs for “Radio Rebelde” and “Radio Progreso” as a Writer and Director for Humorous and Variety Radio Programs. In 1981, he married Rita, and is the Father of 13 children with the youngest born in 1997.

He started as a Humorous Writer in the weekly Newspaper-Format “Pa’Lante” at age twenty (20).

In the 1970’s, Reyes-Canto worked for the radio stations “Radio Rebelde” and “Radio Progreso” as a Writer, Producer and Director with the largest ratings at that time, along with the participation of the most famous Actors and Actresses in Cuba.

In the 1980’s, He moved to Miami, FL were he later began as a Writer and Editor in various publications like “Cubalegre”, “Miami Ja Ja”, “The Key to the Keys” “La Llave de los Cayos” (The First and only bilingual Magazine in the Florida Keys) “ El Comercial Magazine”. Reyes-Canto Wrote, Produced and Directed the Drama Series “Los Inesperados” and the Movie “Dos Agentes a La Cañona” with very well-known Hispanic Actors some who made a crossover like Emiliano Diez (George Lopez-TV Series),

In the 1990’s Reyes-Canto worked as a Writer for the Spanish program on “Telemundo Network” “Salvese quien Pueda”, “Cine Millonairio” and “A La Cama Con Porcel” with recognized worldwide Comedian Jorge Porcel. He wrote two Comedy Theatre Plays “Aqui lo que importa es el Cash” and “Moros y Lechon” which were shown in Miami, FL with great success. He was also the Editor and Writer for “El Nuevo Latino Newspaper”

In the 2000’s Reyes-Canto was the Writer and Editor for “Salsa Internacional” a Humoroustic Newspaper, he was also the Writer for the “Mikimbin” Show on TV and Radio for AmericaTeve Network and Univision Radio. He later wrote for Alexis Valdes show “Seguro Que Yes” on Americateve Network. Reyes-Canto is currently working on two novels and two short stories.
