The Railway Minister also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given time to inaugurate the Dhaka-Bhanga route on October 10, Khulna-Mongla on November 9 and Dohazari-Cox's Bazar route on November 12. It has been informed by the Railways that the authority has fixed a new schedule from November with the aim of ensuring the convenience of passenger movement in winter, operating new trains and increasing revenue. It is known that a new non-stop inter-city train will run on the Dhaka-Chittagong route during the night with Suwarna and Sonar Bangla Express train rakes. However, the name and schedule of that train has not been finalized yet. A new non-stop train will run on the Dhaka-Sylhet route with new Korean rakes. That train will leave Dhaka at 9:30 am and reach Sylhet at 3:15 pm. The return journey will leave Sylhet at 4:15 PM and reach Dhaka at 11:00 PM. Upban Express from Dhaka will leave for Sylhet at 10 pm instead of 8.30 pm. After the inauguration of the Dohazari-Cox's Bazar route on November 12, a new intercity train will run on the Dhaka-Cox's Bazar route with a new Korean coach. The train will leave Dhaka at 8:15 PM and reach Cox's Bazar at 5:30 AM. The return journey will leave Cox's Bazar at 10 am and reach Dhaka at 7.15 pm. Washpit and off-day servicing will be in Cox's Bazar. Chittagong-bound Mahanagar Prabhati and Turna Express routes will be extended to Cox's Bazar-Chittagong-Dhaka route. Meanwhile, Mahanagar Prabhati will leave Dhaka at 7:45 am and reach Cox's Bazar at 4 pm. The return journey will leave Cox's Bazar at 8:45 PM and reach Dhaka at 6 AM. And Turna Express will leave Dhaka at 11:30 PM and reach Cox's Bazar at 7:40 AM. On the return journey, it will leave Cox's Bazar at 12 noon and reach Dhaka at 8:10 pm. The inter-city Chattla Express train will run through a rake with Inca 100 MG lot coaches. It will leave Chittagong at 6 am and reach Dhaka at 12 pm. The Chittagong-Dohazari local train will be replaced with Shobhan class coaches and will ply on the Chittagong-Cox's Bazar route. The Meghna Express train will run on Chandpur-Chittagong-Cox's Bazar route by extending the route. Sundarban Express and Benapole Express will run through Padma Setu. Chitra Express will run on the previous route i.e. via Bangabandhu Bridge. The new stops of Sundarban and Benapole Express will be Kushtia Court, Rajbari, Faridpur and Bhanga Junction. Nakshikantha commuter route will be extended to Khulna-Dhaka route via Padma Bridge instead of Khulna-Goland. The train will leave Khulna at 12 pm and reach Dhaka at 9:45 am. On the return journey, it will leave Dhaka at 11:30 am and reach Khulna at 9:20 pm. Dhallarchar Express route of Pabna-Rajshahi route will be extended till Chapainawabganj. Intercity Madhumati Express route will be extended to Rajshahi-Dhaka via Padma Bridge instead of Rajshahi-Bhanga. The new stops will be Bhanga Junction, Padma, Mawa, Pukuria and Shibchar. Kamrul Ahsan, Director General of Railways, said that for now some new trains have been launched in the winter schedule of the railway and some initiatives have been taken to change the schedule of some trains. However, it is not possible to say how effective it will be from November 1.

After a 19-day shutdown to prevent the spread of Corona, passenger trains resumed across the country from August 11. Although inter-city and mail-commuter trains are running across the country due to Corona, local trains on the Dohazari route are closed. However, all types of trains are running normally on the Chittagong-Nazirhat route.

He also said that when the Chittagong University (CHB) campus opens, a new pair of trains will start running on the university route from Chittagong. Two pairs of passenger trains are now plying on the Dohazari route. Also a wagon train transporting furnace oil to Dohazari Peking Power Plant.

2 pairs of commuter trains are being launched on Chittagong-Patia-Dohajari route Besides, when the academic activities of Chittagong University start, a pair of commuter trains will be started on the university route from Chittagong city. 2 pairs of commuter trains are being launched on Chittagong-Patia-Dohajari route. The railway authorities will operate these trains through demo rakes from February 7. Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan will inaugurate two trains from Dohazari and Patia on February 6.

Besides, when the academic activities of Chittagong University start, a pair of commuter trains will be started on the university route from Chittagong city.

Railway Eastern Assistant Chief Operating Superintendent Md Saheb Uddin told The Business Standard, 'On February 6, the Railway Minister will inaugurate two new pairs of trains from Dohazari at 12:15 PM and from Patia at 1:15 PM.' The Office of the Chief Operating Superintendent of Railways Eastern Region has fixed the commuter train schedule on February 3. Dohajari Commuter-1 will depart from Chittagong railway station at 5.30 am and reach Patia station at 6.40 am. Dohazari Commuter-2 will depart from Patia at 7:30 am and reach Chittagong at 9:50 am. Dohazari Commuter-3 will depart from Chittagong at 5 pm and reach Dohazari at 7:30 pm. Dohazari Commuter-4 will depart from Dohazari Station at 7:40 PM and reach Chittagong Station at 10:40 PM. Passengers will get on and off at all stations on this route.

The movement of these trains will be closed on Friday.

Besides, when the academic activities of Chittagong University start, the railway authority will start 1 pair of trains named University Commuter-5 and Commuter-6. University Commuter-5 will start its journey from Chittagong at 4:45 PM and reach the University at 5:45 PM. University Commuter-6 will depart from Chittagong University at 6 pm and reach Chittagong city at 7 pm.

According to railway sources, on July 24, 2019, Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan visited the university by shuttle train. At that time, teachers and students demanded to start new trains on the university route. In view of this, a pair of commuter trains are being started on this route.

As per railway eastern working time table-52, 14 shuttle trains and 4 commuter trains operate on Chittagong to University route.

Chittagong Railway Station Manager Ratan Kumar Chowdhury told The Business Standard that currently 2 pairs of local trains are running on the Chittagong Dohazari route.
