The Boston cream (pie) doughnut or donut is a round, solid, yeast-risen doughnut with chocolate frosting and a custard filling, a miniature donut version of the Boston cream pie.[1][2]

The Boston cream doughnut was designated the official doughnut of Massachusetts in 2003[3] after the Boston cream pie itself was chosen as the state dessert in 1996. EDIT: ( I think the source goes at the end of the sentence? not postive tho!)

The Boston cream donut was made out of inspiration from the Boston Cream Pie. [4] The Boston Cream Pie was made adopted as the state dessert in 1996 and has been a staple to Massachusetts since then. The pie was created by chef M. Sanzian at Boston’s Parker House Hotel in 1856. It is a two-layer sponge cake filled with vanilla flavored custard and topped with chocolate glaze. [5] The Boston Cream donut’s adaptation of the pie has made the donut a huge hit and was deemed the official state donut of Massachusetts in 2003. [6] EDIT (this was said earlier, not sure if redundant but maybe elaborate more? :) )

Massachusetts has been the nation’s leader in claiming state baked goods which has raised the argument of whether it is necessary for Massachusetts to have a state donut. [7] Many state representatives came forward with their opinions on the matter throughout the years. State Representative Cele Han has shared multiple opinions on the matter, claiming that she believes the official donut legislation enacted in Massachusetts is frivolous and that having a designated donut associated with the state can have political pitfalls.[8] On the contrary the Boston Cream Doughnut is a beloved baked good ( EDIT : maybe add a survey or info about who/why/how many people love it to support your claim) that has left many people with a positive connotation to Massachusetts. Students at Simon Fraser University claim that Boston cream donuts always bring them more energy and excitement when sitting in a boring lecture. As well professional wrestler Sable stated that all anyone needs to do to make her happy is put a Boston cream donut in front of her.[9] The donut has raised controversy about its importance, but nonetheless stayed a beloved baked good to many all over the nation.

COMMENTS:

I enjoyed learning more about this treat! I cannot recall a time that I have eaten one, but I am sure I have. Overall, you have added a lot more info onto the page and made it a better article for sure. Only a few suggests about adding more info and sources into the article. I would maybe consider adding more to the second section or combining it with the intro since it is shorter. I think that it could be a *little* more neutral, which is something I am struggling with myself on my article. I think you could maybe add a section talking about why and who loves the donut instead of adding that directly into the paragraphs, just so it remains a little more neutral? Otherwise, I think you're off to a great start and I can't wait to read the final product! :)
