Kong: King of Atlantis

Plot[edit]

Cast[edit]

Reception[edit]

Dalin Rowell listed both Kong: King of Atlantis and Kong: Return to the Jungle as the tenth worst of the eleven King Kong films that he reviewed for /Film, and found that while both films did have entertaining elements, they were marred by "awkward dialog, confusing plot lines, and messy animation."[1] Todd Douglass Jr. of DVD Talk gave the film a half star out of a possible five, and criticized the confusing storyline, lackluster animation, poor audio, unlikable characters, and "horrible musical numbers" that made Kong: King of Atlantis feel like "a poorly managed and low-budget Disney film of old" that Douglass advised skipping "unless you have the misfortune of having a child who enjoys the show."[2] Stephen Head of IGN was more lenient towards the film, awarding it a score of 3/10 and opining that while it lacked any "elements that might appeal to anyone over twelve" and contained many "yawner" songs that it would be better off without, it could still be enjoyable for child viewers, which is "what counts" for "an austerely animated movie like this."[3] Claire Epting of Screen Crush called Kong: King of Atlantis the worst King Kong film, succinctly noting that "It's not a good time" and "really should be forgotten."[4]
