To whoever is visiting my user page, welcome!

I'm interested in a broad range of topics, but mainly films, music, television series, and history. Sometimes some Japanese animation, and sometimes some books. I am a supporter of improving the articles related to Philippine culture.

On an abrupt tangent, once the pandemic subsides, I would love for home media companies in Metro Manila to continue maintaining DVD stores alongside the present streaming services. There should at least be room for both.

  • Songs:
    • "Surf's Up" (1972) by The Beach Boys: layered, emotional, and reaching-for-greatness pop song from the greatest American band.
    • "I Just Called to Say I Love You" (1984) by Stevie Wonder: dated synth instrumentation, timeless lyrics and melody about love
    • "The Power of Your Love" (1992) by Hillsong Church: personally the most rousing and uplifting Christian worship song
    • "Say Ladeo" (2010) by Bobby McFerrin: hopeful, inspirational, soothing, and epitomizes McFerrin's philosophy on music having the power to uplift the spirit
    • Almost every Beatles song (1962–1970): the miraculous songwriting talents of the group lead to an unprecedented run of great songs unrivaled to this day
  • Japanese animated series:
    • Kaiba (2008): imaginative and touching portrayal of love and loss, and a meditation on the nature of memory and the soul/self
    • Nichijou (2011): sees the quirks and miracles in everyday life with exaggeration and humor, and is a teenage remembrance of childhood
    • No Matter How I Look at It, It's You Guys' Fault I'm Not Popular! (2013): self-conscious and exaggerated look at teenage angst and insecurities, with both empathy and dismay for the main character's hopes, choices and faults
