At the 2009 Winter Cup finals, few (gymnasts) come out swinging, says Ward Black of IG Online. Black talks about how the team needs to shape up, especially on pommel horse. Paul and Morgan Hamm were given a positive mention, in regards that if their injuries did not occur, the twins could have achieved a silver for the team.

On Sunday, January 23, 2009, Paul and Morgan performed on parallel bars and floor at the Progressive Ice Skating & Gymnastics Spectacular. On floor, the Hamm twins performed to the song Stronger by Kayne West.
