History[edit]

The needs of the TNI in terms of weapons, especially rifles for infantry, are very large, in countries such as the United States, Belgium and Turkey, it seems that they already have their own combat rifles. For example, the United States Army has the SR-25 rifle, the Belgian Army has the FN SCAR-H PR, and the Turkish Army has the MPT-76.

Based on that, PT Pindad designed and assembled this combat weapon based on research and development of existing weapons. Pindad hopes that this SS3 rifle can compete with well-known combat rifles such as the FN SCAR-H and SR-25 or M110A2.

The prototype was first shown at Indo Defense 2014, where the weapon was shown with a fire selector in semi-auto mode. [[Category:Indonesian Army]] [[Category:Pindad]] [[Category:Battle rifles]] [[Category:Equipment of the Indonesian army]]
