After graduation he worked as an assistant to Jasper Morrison[1] and open his own studio called Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID) in 1991 in Munich. He and his team are developing furniture, products and lighting for leading companies in the design field. Grcic works for renowned customers in the furniture sector. His clients include companies such as: Authentics, BD Ediciones, ClassiCon, Flos, Flötotto, Laufen, Magis, Mattiazzi, Muji, Nespresso, Plank, Serafino Zani, Thomas Rosenthal and Vitra. He has won many international design awards. Among others, his lamp MAYDAY (created for Flos) won the prestigious Compasso d`Oro prizein 2001 and the MYTO chair (designed for Plank) was awarded 2011. Konstantin Grcic has exhibited his objects in many famous galleries and design museums all over the world, including MoMA in New York, the Vitra Museum in Weil am Rhein or Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris. [2]

Grcic is known for his way of logical thinking. His work is often related to objects that have their origin in a different surrounding.[3] During the exhibition "Panorama" (Vitra Museum in Weil am Rhein) he showed a concentrated view into his daily work. Here many of his products, prototypes, drawings and background information were shown. Particularly interested were the everyday objects and works of other designers that inspired Grcic for his own designs.[4]
