This Wikipedia user grew up near Maastricht in the Netherlands, lived in Leiden, York and Montreal, and currently resides in Amsterdam and London. He is a graduate of the University of Amsterdam in European Studies and holds a degree in teaching.

I have done some work on English Wikipedia but most of my contributions have been on Dutch Wikipedia (check my list). In January 2018 I won the 'golden pen' in the Dutch Wikipedia Writing Contest 2017 with this article. An English translation is available here.

Photographs on Commons[edit]

I have done quite a bit of work on Wikimedia Commons too, so far almost 240.000 edits (2024). A major project I assisted in was categorizing 450,000 images that were donated to Wikimedia Commons by the Dutch Heritage Agency RCE. Of the 30,000 images I uploaded to Commons, around 20,000 were taken by me. Here are some:
