The Battle of Ise-Yamato Province was fought on the 17 March 1869 between the forces of the Imperial Court and the Tokugawa Shogunate during the Boshin War. The Chōshū Imperial Vanguard fought the Nagaoka Shogunal Vanguard in the battle.
Background[edit]
The Boshin War had officially broken out on the 26th of December 1868 following consensus between every remaining Imperialist domain and Emperor Meiji days before December 26th.
