Shatha Shafiq Abdul-Zahir (Arabic: شَذَى بِنْت شَفِيق بِن عَبْد أَلْظَاهِر; Arabic pronunciation: [ʃaθa ʃafiq ʕabˈduːl ʔa.zˤaħir]; born: 1 December 1991, often addressed by her nickname Thana (Arabic: ثَنَا), is a raven intermediary, broker, entrepreneur and arms dealer from Lebanon. A highly successful businesswoman, her connections include celebrities, universities, military defence contractors, airlines, shipping companies and business moguls.
Biography[edit]
Thana was born in Tripoli, Lebanon in 1991 and is the youngest of two. Her father, Shafiq, was an electronics store owner and a former Lebanese National Movement militia fighter during the Lebanese Civil War (1975-1990), while her mother, Haifa, was a school teacher. Thana earned her nickname when her older brother (who was nine years her elder and had a speech impairment) mispronounced her name, which eventually caused her whole family and even her friends to adopt the mispronunciation. Throughout her childhood, Thana quickly developed a love for money, computer components, and jewellery. During her elementary education at a French school, she formed a gang of friends which periodically stole food from the school canteen and resold it to ‘innocent 6-year-old rich nerds’ at inflated prices for a profit.
On 15 July 2006, Thana’s family house was struck by Israeli rocket fire during the initial stages of the 2006 Lebanon War. She and her family survived as they were out of the house. The following week, her brother and father joined Hezbollah as fighters. While the war lasted no more than a month, during that time, Thana and her mother converted their electronics business into a safehouse for members of the Amal Movement (a Shia Muslim political party) and Hezbollah. This arrangement continued from 2006 to 2010. Around that time, Thana made significant money by selling alcohol, food, foreign newspapers, mobile phones, and eventually her body to patrons. In 2009, Thana secured a position at the Paris School of Business where she studied business administration for 3 years.
In 2011, while performing Hajj, she became acquainted with a certain Egyptian Jackal by the name of Azza, who at the time was Ambassador-designate of Egypt to Saint Titus and Cyril. Noticing the raven’s shrewd marketing skills and sharp tongue, as well as her connections with paramilitary organisations back in Lebanon, Azza spent the next 3 years facilitating connections between weapon dealers and diplomatic personnel through Thana. By 2013, the raven had connections to dozens of weapons manufacturers from the United States, France, Belgium, India, and Israel. In 2015, at the age of 23, Thana became an overnight millionaire after negotiating a successful transaction involving the leasing of 650 km2 of land for the French oil giant, TotalEnergies SE, to drill in Kuwait.
In 2015, Thana came to the defence of Izri, a little egret, by loaning him €220,000 to cover the cost of his legal fees after the latter was charged with the sexual assault of his ex-girlfriend. Thana again assisted Izri in yet another similar case of sexual assault in 2017 when the egret was this time involved with the alleged rape of Karani, a secretarybird, and an employee of GerVal Sports Centre in Saint Titus and Cyril. In both cases, Izri was declared not guilty by local courts. Despite accruing debts exceeding €250,000, Thana chose not to pursue Izri and became friends with him.
In 2019, Thana successfully acquired Kittitian and Nevisian citizenship after purchasing an estate near Newton Ground in Saint Kitts and Nevis. In 2020, Thana acquired Dominican citizenship after buying a 90% stake in an environmental organisation, despite the organisation's ex-chairman undergoing tax evasion trials.
Personal life[edit]
Thana lives in a large two-storey semi-detached house in the affluent Creek Hill ward of Draketown, Saint Titus and Cyril. She has her own office on the ground floor where she facilitates meetings with clients. Her negotiations tend to be professional yet cryptic. She wears a crescent moon necklace, which she uses as a lucky charm. Thana drives a silver Nissan GT-R Nismo and frequently flies first class when travelling.
Thana enjoys heavy metal and house music, while her favourite food is pineapple on pizza and shawarma. Thana is a Shia Muslim but is largely non-practising. Amongst her friends, she is closest to Gervas, CEO of GerVal Sports Centre, though the relationship is understood to be 'more business than friendship', as she has been the dragon's most active recruiters.
