Prímo Routes[edit]

When Prímo Route 100 initially launched in 2012, it had three northbound terminals, alternating between the Medical Center Transit Center, UTSA, and Leon Valley terminals. On January 9, 2017, the Route 100 extensions to UTSA and Leon Valley were redesignated as Route 101.

Route 101 was retired and replaced with Route 501 on January 7, 2019.

Flex Routes[edit]

On August 4, 2003, VIA introduced a new service type known as Flex Service. Flex Service was designed to meet the needs of riders in areas that are difficult to serve efficiently with traditional bus service.

In Flex Service areas, a bus circulated within a defined service zone to pick up and drop off passengers. During peak periods, the bus served stops along a set path similar to traditional bus routes. During off-peak hours and all day on Saturdays, the bus only served stops that riders requested ahead of time.[1]

All Flex Service routes were retired on August 15, 2005.
