Blogcritics[edit]

Barbara has been a contributer and editor for Blogcritics Magazine, a news and opinion website, for many years. In March 2013, Critical Lens Media, a company owned by Barbara and Jon Sobel, acquired Blogcritics from Eric Olsen.[3]

In October 2010, Barbara launched a podcast companion to her web work on BlogTalkRadio. She called her program "Let's Talk TV With Barbara Barnett." On the weekly show, she chaired a panel and interviewed guests, including Jane Espenson, and talked about television shows, most often Once Upon a Time. The podcast ran for about two years.[4]

House M.D.[edit]

Barbara became notable for her weekly coverage of the television show House M.D., which she covered on Blogcritics under the column "Welcome to the Thought Process." It was one of the most widely-followed and most commented on column on Blogcritics during the show's original run, with some articles garnering more than 100 interactions. Besides writing analysis for individual episodes, she also covered themes and characters in-depth.

In the fall of 2010, Barbara published a book with ECW Press, covering the series up through season six. Called "Chasing Zebras: The Unofficial Guide to House M.D.," in it she explained the parallels between Dr. House and Sherlock Holmes, as well as offered essays on the various characters and episodes. She was praised for her outsider's perspective on the inside, having gained access to many involved with the show's production to aide her writing.[5] The book received positive reviews. Exclusive Magazine's review said "I think anyone reading this book will become a smarter viewer, not only of this series, but of other dramas."[6]

In 2014, she released a digital continuation of the book through Amazon, covering the seventh season of the show.[7]
