  • 1200 UTC, (0000 FST; January 6) – TCWC Nadi reports that a tropical depression has formed 440 km (275 miles) southeast of Utiroa, Kiribati.[2]
January 7
  • 0600 UTC, (1800 FST) – TCWC Nadi reports that the tropical depression has strengthened into a category one tropical cyclone and names it "Anne".[2]
January 8
  • 0600 UTC, (1800 FST) – TCWC Nadi reports that Tropical Cyclone Anne has strengthened into a category two tropical cyclone.[2]
