The Company[edit]

EV-Box was founded in the Netherlands in 2010. At the time, the market for electric vehicles (EVs) was still in its infancy. In the last five years, EV-Box has grown to become an international market leader, with over 40.000 charging stations across the globe. The concept was clear: a charging station with fully modular construction, ready to facilitate the explosion of the EV market, while simultaneously providing uncompromising quality and durability.

The iconic LED ring has become a symbol for charging in public spaces, an unmistakable and welcome feature of many city streets.

Charging Stations[edit]

EV-Box charging stations are compatible with every type of electric vehicle. They are integrated with an advanced online management system, and ensure an easy and efficient use of the charging station by its owners and respective electric vehicle drivers. EV-Box offers three type of charging stations:

  • HomeLine (for electric vehicle drivers that want to charge at home or in condominiums)[4]
  • BusinessLine (for business owners in offices, retail, hospitality and real estate industries)[5]
  • PublicLine (for municipalities and cities)[6]

All EV-Box's charging stations are equipped with Smart Charging. Smart Charging is an umbrella term that defines all intelligent functionalities and protocols in EV-Box’s charging stations that optimize the charging infrastructure by creating and distributing the available power in an efficient and flexible manner. With Smart Charging, users can prevent unnecessary costs and get the most out of their charging stations in case of limited power capacity.

The charging stations from EV-Box are made out of polycarbonate and are 100% recyclable. The focus of EV-Box is not only to reduce the amount of gasoline that's used by gasoline cars, but also contribute with the use of recyclable plastic. In 2015 there were 16,3 million kWh's charged from EV-Box chargers. Which approximately stands for 97,8 million kilometers driven and about 1,52 million gallons of gasoline.[7][8]

The total annual carbon emissions of EV-Box were 126,86 tons. The office building of EV-Box runs entirely on green energy, whereby the company sorts its waste, always prints duplex and is currently busy installing solar panels on the roof. All the lighting inside the EV-Box office are LED.[9]

Partners[edit]

EV-Box utilizes an indirect approach to distributing their product. EV-Box partners with the premier network providers, EVSE experts, electrical equipment companies, and key companies from various industries to provide the best charging infrastructure for cities, enterprises and residents. Amongst many partners, EV-Box has relationships and partnership agreement with Rexel, Vattenfall, Eneco, ENGIE, ANWB, E.ON, Heijmans, Greenlots, EVConnect, and many others.[10][11]
