German fashion design[edit]
Berlin is the center of young and creative fashion in Germany (prominently displayed at Berlin Fashion Week), while Düsseldorf helds Europe's largest fashion trade fairs. Other important centers of the scene are Munich, Hamburg and Cologne. German fashion is famed for its elegant lines as well as unconventional young designs and the great variety of styles.
Globally renowned fashion designers from Germany are e.g. Karl Lagerfeld, Hugo Boss, Wolfgang Joop, Jil Sander, Michael Michalsky, Etienne Aigner, Rudolph Moshammer, Willy Bogner, Rudolf and Adi Dassler.
Famous fashion brands include BOSS, adidas, PUMA, Escada, JOOP!, MCM, Bruno Banani, Sander, Triumph, Schiesser, Closed, Reusch, Valisere, Jack Wolfskin, Ulla Popken, Buffalo, Rohde, Zalando, Dr. Martens, P&C, Marc O'Polo, Tom Tailor, s.Oliver, Esprit and Wunderkind.
There also is a range of fashion models from Germany that made it to international fame, such as Claudia Schiffer, Heidi Klum, Diane Kruger, Eva Padberg, Toni Garrn, Julia Stegner, Kirsten Dunst, Tatjana Patitz, Manon von Gerkan, Nico, Uschi Obermaier, Lena Gercke, Sara Nuru, Barbara Meier, Nadja Auermann, Claudia Ciesla, Aslı Bayram, Shermine Shahrivar, Evelyn Sharma and Nico Schwanz.
Design and fashion[edit]

Germany accounts for some of the most important fashion designers (Lagerfeld, Boss, Joop, Escada, Jil Sander, Moshammer, Bogner, Michalsky, Dassler Adidas/Puma etc.), product/interior and industrial designs (think of Mies van der Rohe, Behrens, Rams, Breuhaus, Bruno Paul, Colani, BRAUN designs etc.) schools (Bauhaus, Expressionism aso.), models (Schiffer, Klum, Garrn, Gerkan, Obermaier, Stegner, Padberg, Diane Kruger etc.) and collections. Architecture[edit]
(Section to be integrated in some articles) Concurrently, the recent movements of New Urbanism and New Classical Architecture promote a sustainable approach towards construction, that appreciates and develops smart growth, architectural tradition and classical design.[1][2] This in contrast to modernist and globally uniform architecture, as well as leaning against solitary housing estates and suburban sprawl.[3] The Driehaus Architecture Prize is an award that recognizes efforts in New Urbanism and New Classical Architecture, and is endowed with a prize money twice as high as that of the Pritzker Prize.[4]
Bread and Butter tradeshow Berlin[edit]
Bread and Butter (shortened to B&B) is the world’s most important trade and fashion show for everyday clothing and streetwear.[5][6] It is held annually in January and July during Berlin Fashion Week.
The show was initiated by German entrepreneur Karl-Heinz Müller and premiered in July 2001 in Cologne-Deutz.[7] From 2003 until 2007 it was held at Gartenfeld in Berlin. It had a spin-off in Barcelona since 2005 and completely relocated there in 2007.[8] Since summer 2009 the B & B tradeshow is back in Berlin and located at the historical hangars of Tempelhof Airport.[9]

Franziska Knuppe (born 7 December 1974 in Rostock) is a German model.
She was discovered by famed designer Wolfgang Joop in 1997 at a café in Potsdam. She featured prominently in campaigns of Triumph International, JOOP!, Oasis and Reebok. She modeled for e.g. Thierry Mugler, Diane von Fürstenberg, Escada, Rocobarocco, Wunderkind Couture, Jasper Conran, Betty Jackson, Strenesse, Vivienne Westwood and Issey Miyake. She was photographed by i.a. Peter Lindbergh, Karl Lagerfeld, Michel Comte and Arthur Elgort.
Knuppe is married since 1999 and mother to a daughter since 2007.[10]
