Ustad Abid Hussain[edit]
Abid Hussain Khan was born 1n 1907. He was the son of Jamaluddin Khan Beenkar of Baroda and grandson of Raza Ali Beenkar of Jaipur. His father trained him. He used to gather theoretical knowledge from Pt. Bhatkhande. Abid Hussain Khan served as a court musician in Baroda state for almost ten years before giving his services to Nawab of Janjira. Prof R C Mehta mentions that he learnt vocal music with Amir Khan[1] Some commentators hold that the two musicians exchanged notes both having settled dowt Indore.
Ustad Abid Hussain Khan's recital at Vikram Music Conference in 1944 exposed his talent nationally. The Nawab of Janjira, who spent some months every year at Indore, invited the artiste. Enamored with the pleasant climate and friendly mood of the city the Ustad stayed at Indore right up to his death in 1958. He taught a number of students; Bhavyanand Bhatt of Indore is able to preserve the characteristics of his mentor.

Jamaluddin Khan[edit]
Jamaluddin Khan was the son of Reza Alli Beenkar of Jaipur[1]. The family traces its root to the Seni Gharana. Descendents of Tansen selected Rudra Veena which they referred to as Saraswati Veena for members of the family; to other disciples they taught Surbahar and Sitar. Jamaluddin had mastered the art and became a court musician at Baroda. His performance at Music Conference held in Baroda in 1916 was excellent and remained in memory of listeners. He trained his son Abid Hussain in Been as well as vocal music.
