I am an educator and human-computer interaction researcher, currently an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Texas State University. All edits are solely in my personal capacity as a private individual, and do not represent the positions of Texas State University or the State of Texas.

During my Ph.D studies at the University of Minnesota, I was a member of the GroupLens Research lab. Some of my research was on Wikipedia, resulting in the paper rv you're dumb: Identifying Discarded Work in Wiki Article History published at WikiSym 2009.

I currently work primarily in the field of Recommender systems. You can read more about that here: https://md.elehack.net/research/.

I don't do a whole lot of editing, but I'll occasionally do something if it strikes my fancy (or something bugs me). I'm really interested in tools that make small contributions easier to make.
