Polar platform is the largest satellite used so far within Europe (as of 31st October 2011).
Consisting of a service (SM) and a payload (PLM) module, The SM is the basic carriage for all missions, the PLM varies according to the necessities of each mission.
The PP was developed specifically to observe the earth.[1]
