Университет Западного Лондона (University of West London) — государственный университет расположенный на западе Лондона, в районах Ealing и Brentford, университет также имеет собственные кампусы в городе Рединг.

Университет был основан в 1860 года как школа Lady Byron School, которая позже была переиминован в Ealing College of Higher Education. В 1990 ряд учебных заведений: Ealing College of Higher Education, Thames Valley College of Higher Education, Queen Charlotte's College of Health Care Studies and the London College of Music приняли совместное решение объядинится и университет стал называться Thames Valley University. В 2004 к ним также присоединился Reading College and School of Arts and Design.

1 августа 2010 года был назначен новый ректор Laurence Geller, который сразу же приступил к реформированию и реструктуризации, в частности было предложено переиминовать университет. UWL в рейтингах[edit]

В 2012 году по мнению авторитетной газеты The Guardian Университет Заподного Лондона был признан самым современным университетом Лондона (Best Modern University in London).[4]

В 2010 году согласно официальному рейтингу лучших университетов Великобритании - The Guardian university guide,[5] Университет Заподного Лондона занял 69 место из 120.

В официальном рейтинге, опубликованным Times Higher Education в июле 2008 года, университет занял первое место в номинации "гарантированное трудоустройство выпускников", так более 95% выпускников смогли трудоустроиться по специальности в интересующей их отрасль в течении шести месяцев после окончания учебного заведения, в сравнение с другими университетами Великобритании.

  • Karon Monaghan QC, LLB in 1988 – Barrister at Matrix Chambers and principally specialises in equality and human rights law. She was an adviser to the government's Women and Equality Unit on the Discrimination Law Review which preceded the Equality Act 2010.
  • Chris Galvin, BSc International Culinary Arts – Galvin Restaurants (Galvin Bistrot de Luxe, Galvin at Windows, Galvin La Chapelle, Galvin Cafe a Vin).
