Removal of Junk[edit]

I refuse to accept your point-of-view that the page referring to ConorMcAteer be classified as junk.(A99bf0c3 06:23, 5 July 2006 (UTC))

Just for reference, I did not call it "junk", I deleted it under the nonsense criteria of CSD per obvious reasons. — Deckiller 20:14, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

I can talk here right?[edit]

Thank you DecKiller. It appears I may be able to copestetically exist after all! My only wish to create the most extroardinary and fantastic Xenogears repository on the internet! I may take it to the limit, but not one angstrum beyond! As it is my only intention to convey information with clarity and finess!Xenogears™©® 07:49, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

What the heck?[edit]

Re: Adminship[edit]

Thank you! I'm very flattered that you would want to nominate me as a Wikipedia administrator. Naturally I accept your nomination! – Mipadi 12:06, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Posted my acceptance. Thanks again! – Mipadi 02:58, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Why thank you dear Tyler for the wonderful Birthday wishes!  :) Darthgriz98 21:35, 5 July 2006 (UTC)

Star Wars ship names[edit]

Hey, Killer! I've read your comments on the aformentioned articles. Please explain your thinking more to me, as your definately have more experience than I. If necessary, I'll add a description for every ship: it's condensed history, commander, accomplishments, famous battles it was at, and where it was destroyed.

Thanks,

RelentlessRouge 11:41, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

Re: RfA[edit]

Okay. Hopefully all goes well, but if not, it'll be a good learning experience. – Mipadi 11:54, 6 July 2006 (UTC)

3RR[edit]

I haven't reverted thrice today. I have reverted twice, and then edited someones talk. Ameise -- chat 02:30, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Yeah, I understand; that's why I said that it was two reverts away to give you guys a heads up. — Deckiller 02:31, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Ok, I read too quickly. Last time I broke the 3RR rule was in an edit war with the Polish over Stettin... Ameise -- chat 02:33, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

notenglish[edit]

Heya, I noted you deleted Horbehutet for not being in English. Surprisingly enough, this isn't a speedy deletion criterion. Instead, tag it with {{notenglish}}, and leave it for the people who handle that stuff to sort out. --fvw* 06:12, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Good catch; don't know what I was thinking. Then again, it's 2:13 in the morning here o.O. Sorry about that. — Deckiller 06:13, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
No problem, if that's the worst you'll do, you're doing pretty damn well. Also: Good morning. --fvw* 06:16, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
On the other hand, removing the backlog tag from cat:csd is a huge faux pas. I was looking forward to removing that! Mine! My precioussss! (etc.) --fvw* 06:18, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks. Unfortunately, I have work at 9, so I'm only going to be getting five hours of sleep :-). It's not too bad — coffee is common for a reason, eh? — Deckiller 06:18, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Okay, okay, next time you get the honors :) — Deckiller 06:20, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
You're too kind. Or at least almost sufficiently kind, which given my view of things, is sufficiently close. Enjoy your coffee. --fvw* 06:21, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

RFA[edit]

Thanks for catching the mistake I made.[1]The King of Kings 01:25 July 09 '06

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Russia as a major power[edit]

Thanks for the offer. To be honest, I don't think that there was much in these articles that was verifiable. These articles were full of pretty low-grade stuff, I don't think that it's worth the bother.

Best wishes, Xdamrtalk 07:51, 9 July 2006 (UTC)

SW AFD closings[edit]

Are you really sure you should be closing those AFDs, since in the ones I looked, you'd voted. --maru (talk) contribs 01:39, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

I decided to close the ones that were pretty much obvious (since they are all outdated). I didn't close the ones that were really close (the closest was devices, which I userfied). Some of them I even closed opposite my votes — I agree, it's even a little bold to close obvious ones, but I don't think it was out of line, per se. — Deckiller 01:41, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

I just wanted to chime in to agree with maru. I'd rather that you didn't close AfD's that you voted in, to prevent the "appearence of coruption", as it were. Not that I disagree with any of your actual closes but people can latch on to such things as "demonstration of bias" and I'd rather they not have that foothold when the consensus (or lack thereof) is clear. Thanks in general for your good work and reasoned arguments in the debates, or course. Eluchil404 03:00, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to reopen them, but I certainly won't insist on it. I trust Mike to be reasonable about consensus in this case. I would if it were me, but I know that any AfD's I close improperly will come back to haunt me if I am nominated at RfA so I strive to be hyper-correct. No worries either way, from my point-of-view. Eluchil404 03:26, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

AfD[edit]

I closed a few AfDs as keep earlier today, including some that I voted in. I feel that this was unprofessional, so I ask your opinion: should I revert the closure and have you determine the closure yourself? Thanks. — Deckiller 03:24, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

That would be fine. Just list them here and I'll take care of them. Mackensen (talk) 03:25, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

That should be all of them. I reverted most of the stuff I did in realtion to the AfDs. — Deckiller 03:40, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Okay, I'll take it from here. Mackensen (talk) 03:41, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Done. Mackensen (talk) 04:03, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Many thanks. — Deckiller 04:05, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Sure. You did the right thing by asking someone to close (even if I did only differ in one place). Mackensen (talk) 04:06, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
And even then, I agree with your decision; the whole "cruft dam" arguement shouldn't apply to lists of links, in many ways. Perhaps that one AfD was the flaw of my closings earlier; I was worried to make an actual decision on that one, since I had direct association with the people involved in the process. Thanks again. — Deckiller 04:08, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

Just a quick note to say that I wouldn't have objected as your decisions seemed to be fairly on, but I do appreciate your professionalism in being willing to reverse the decision and hand it over to a non-involved admin — although your judgment didn't seem to be off, I do think it is better in the long run to do as you did. Anyway, people putting their egos to the side are a very rare thing on Wikipedia, and so I tip my hat to you, sir. — Mike (talk • contribs) 03:40, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the comment, and I'm sorry for jumping the gun there. By the way, I also appreciate your approach to AfDs; they are discussions, not attacks or heated edit wars. Happy editing! — Deckiller 03:48, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks.  :) — Mike (talk • contribs) 03:50, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

RfA noms[edit]

Thanks, for that, although I see Srikeit around a lot, so I knew what to trawl for... Anyway, regarding your post at WT:RFA, I have been compiling a list of admin chores performed by admins promoted in the last 45 days. We could always do with more of course.Blnguyen | rant-line 04:25, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Well, I've uploaded a file at File:Admin.sxc in open office which has the stats for post 29/5 admins and their delete rate (this is the main backlog) - and then calculated their work-rate compared to the support they got, to see who the most underappreciated and over-apprecaited admins were. Anyway, what was so funny abouyr CrazyRussian??Blnguyen | rant-line 05:14, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
Does the open-office work for you??Blnguyen | rant-line 05:39, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

Jabba the Hutt[edit]

Jabba the Hutt was promoted to featured status today. Thanks again for your support. Dmoon1 17:24, 10 July 2006 (UTC)

I've been watching Clone Wars (Star Wars) dramatically improve since Mipadi told me about it in May. I'll see if there is anything I can do to help out (although you two have done a pretty good job already). Dmoon1 17:30, 10 July 2006 (UTC)
