Introduction[edit]

The Canadian Football League (CFL) has had a rather broad catalog of mascots considering their smaller pool of teams in this professional sports league. The CFL has a total of nine teams, and each one has their own specific mascot, or more than one mascot. At the moment the CFL contains mascots like Ralph the Dog, Leo the Lion, Spike and Punter, Gainer the Gopher, Buzz and Boomer, T.C. and Stripes, Big Joe, Jason the Argonaut, and finally, Blitz and Touché.

Current Mascots[edit]

Leo is the mascot for the BC Lions. There is no information to when Leo was first introduced by the team, however, the BC Lions were introduced in 1954.

Spike and Punter[2]

Another mascot duo in the CFL is Buzz and Boomer. They are the Winnipeg Bluebombers mascots and have been a part of the team since 1984. Buzz and Boomer are two birds.
