Cobi Michael Rontaunay (born 29 July, 1995) is an Australian racing driver competing in the Aussie Racing Cars Championship. He currently drives the No.8 Cammaro Aussie Car for CMR Motorsport. Rontaunay started his racing career at the age of 11 when he raced Go-Karts for Lightning Karts in Adelaide.*[1]* He then went on to win the Northern Territory State title in 2009 and 8th in the Australian title, finishing in the top 10 for the next 3 consecutive years. In 2013 at the age of 17 Rontaunay undertook work experience with [Ford Performance Racing] during the V8 Supercars Endurance season at Sandown and Bathurst 1000. In the 2014 season he completed experience with AF Corse (ITL) Factory Ferrari Team at the Bathurst 12 Hour from which he was offered a mechanical apprenticeship with Maranello Motorsport Australian Factory Ferrari Team in 2014. At the end of 2016, Rontaunay joined Dutton Motorsport *[2] as an apprentice mechanic where he underwent a driver development program from which he qualified in the top 10 at his debut in the [Adelaide Clipsal 500].

Personal Life[edit]

After leaving Dutton Motorsport in June 2017, Rontaunay commenced full time studies in Engineering and Fabrication.Inn September of that year, Rontaunay began employment for Audi Sport Customer Racing Australia. Within a few weeks Rontaunay was headhunted by the category manager of Aussie Racing Cars for a seat in the Townsville 400. This was the springboard of Contaunay's career in racing.

Philanthropy[edit]

With charitable giving a focus of Rontaunay's career, he is working towards a partnership to give back to the Women's and Children's Hospital, Adelaide, who supported him through a severe back injury as a child in 2005. During this time the nursing staff gave exceptional support to the Rontaunay family who would like to help other families in need of similar care.
