Introduction

My name is Christopher Stump, better known as Chris, and I am a student at the University of Pikeville. I am from Elkhart, Indiana, but was raised in Pikeville, Kentucky. I have been a Pikeville native for the last nearly 15 years. I graduated from Pike County Central High School in 2012. In all honesty, I don't have any political views what so ever. I worked at Mr. Gatti's for nearly a year and a half. I made many new friends during my time there, and even though I no longer work there, I try to take the time to visit everyone there. I currently work at the Pikeville Walmart pushing buggies. I have worked there for nearly 9 months so far. I have made many new friends so far there. In fact, everyone there has given me the nickname "Pedro" due to my tan skin; I found this quite funny. I enjoy being outside, which is why I chose to push buggies for Walmart. I like hanging out with my friends on campus when I have time to. I really enjoy playing pool. Before I came to the University of Pikeville, it had been a few years since I had played. Now, when I'm off work or have spare time in between class, I'm in the student lounge playing pool. Sorry ladies, but I am taken. My girlfriends' name is Angel Moore. We have been together since March 12, 2013. Besides family, she's arguably the only thing I've found that I love more than playing pool. So, hears an introduction into my life. If you have any questions or want to hang out, I'm either at Walmart or in the lounge. Feel free to stop by.

Technology in Everyday Life

I feel that technology has become an important part of my life in numerous ways. For starters, I use my cell phone for all aspects of social media. It allows me to keep in contact with all my friends and family that don't live close to me. It also allows me to keep track of my work schedule and pay my bills. It allows me to play games and apps that you can't play on a computer. Speaking of computers, I use my laptop on a daily basis. I use it to keep track of all my assignments in college, not to mention complete the assignments that are online; in which case is most of my work. I do various little projects online as well; such as write my own songs as well as writing a story (which I will discuss another day). Occasionally, I will video chat with friends via Skype. I do this so I can keep track with friends I don't get to see all that often. So, technology has played, is playing, and will continue to play an important role in my life.

Wikipedia

I feel that people tend to criticize Wikipedia too much; saying that it's not a valid source due to so many people editing it everyday. I feel that people aren't giving Wikipedia enough credit. Wikipedia is a more valuable source than people give credit for; it's just a matter of finding the right information from the most credible sources. If I use a Wikipedia article as a source, I look into who created the article, when it was created, the sources within the article to see how well the topic was researched. Wikipedia is edited everyday by thousands, if not millions, of people, so you have to watch which article you use a a source. When you look into who created and who has edited the article, it will give you a general idea as to just how credible the source is. I'm not going to say that every article in Wikipedia is a good source, but a lot of there articles can be useful in researching your topic. So, don't rat Wikipedia off just because it has a bad reputation, you just might find something on Wikipedia that you couldn't find anywhere else.
