Shi Ji Zun (born Khor Saw Hoon, March 24, 1965) is a Malaysian Chinese Bhikkuni. She is a disciple of Venerable Chuk Mor. [1]

Early life and education[edit]

Shi Ji Zun was born Khor Saw Hooon in 1965 in Taiping. She attended Hua Lian High School and grew up in Taiping with an older sister. She then began studying with Venerable Chuk Mor at her young age in Penang, In 1985, she became a novice Buddhist nun under Venerable Chuk Mor. She obtained her higher ordination in Kek Lok Si, Penang in the same year. At the same time, she studied for six years and obtained a diploma from Malaysian Buddhist Institute.After her studies at the Malaysian Buddhist Institute (MBI), she pursued her bachelor studies at Huayen College.Cite error: A <ref> tag is missing the closing </ref> (see the help page)..

Career[edit]

After graduation in Taiwan, she back to the Malaysian Buddhist Institute due to a shortage of teachers there. She was appointed as the teacher and the administrative director in MBI. After the retirement of the former academic director, she became the successor until now. Venerable Ji Zun was appointed to the committee member of the Malaysian Buddhist Association, as the Director of Dharma Propagation from 1992 till 2000, as the Director of Education from 2000 to 2013,as and the Honourary Secretary from 2014 till now. She was also appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the World Bhikkuni Association.

Achievement[edit]

She obtained the Master of Tripitaka that was awarded by the Malaysian Buddhist Association. Another outstanding Buddhist woman award was awarded by the United Nation in 2015. She was also awarded the outstanding Bhikkuni by the World Bhikkuni Association in 2016.

Teaching[edit]

Venerable Ji Zun teaches several scriptures at MBI and established several classes at her temples. Her temples offer Buddhist camps, flower arrangement, Chinese painting, calligraphy, children's Buddhist classes, adults dharma classes, and Buddhist hymns sharing classes.

Bibliography[edit]

Venerable Ji Zun was ordained at a young age and contributed to Buddhist education for more than 25 years. She has three temples and 20 disciples.
