Bacon Challenge 2009

Background[edit]

In an act of swine influenza-induced madness, Kelapstick, a.k.a. "Geo," has proposed the creation of a series of bacon-related articles over a short period of time. This gargantuan and meticulously planned effort will then be unleashed to dominate DYK and produce a DYK grouping with nothing but bacon related hooks. This ingenious and highly constructive proposal from a bacon maniac and co-founder of the bacon cabal (and board member in good standing) comes highly recommended. All cabal members and non-members are urged to sign on and contribute.

Rules[edit]

The articles should be worked up in sandboxes so they can all be debuted in one day's DYK listing.

The official scope of the project is bacon related articles

Rumaki Might be ripe for 5x expansion? See [1] (Google Books) and [2] Google news.
Foods of Elvis Not sure on the title, but there are already articles on the "Elvis sandwich" (a.k.a. peanut butter, banana and bacon), and the Fool's Gold Loaf, and I believe there are a couple books and lots of articles on the subject. A bacon hook would be a slam dunk.
Bacon in popular culture (currently a redirect to bacon mania which isn't really the same thing)[3]
W M Wight: well known and historic purveyor of the bacon butty [4], only source I can find though...
Bacon rolls. An omnibus article with {{main}} links to articles such as Angels on horseback and Devils on horseback, but including other recipes such as Bacon and banana rolls, Bacon and cheese rolls Bacon and sausage rolls, Bacon Cinnamon Roll and so on. Mies, Dr. is working on the Angels article I believe

Bacon alternative ie. fakon, turkey bacon, tofu bacon etc. Could include a blurb about turkey bacon (now DYKable) with a {{main}} template, but I think turkey bacon is about the most notable of the alternatives...
