IRISH WIKIPEDIAN CENSORSHIP[edit]

Dear Sir or Madam:

There is a concerted effort by various other editors (Demiurge, who is a Catholic apologist and wannabe censor, Ali-oops, Camillus, Jtdirl, and others) to censor my edits, not to attempt to refute, correct or improve them, which they cannot, because they are the truth. Even when I provide sources/citations they are dismissed. If you review my last edit re the below-referenced wikipages in question you will see what I mean.

They call me a POV peddler and a sockpuppet, but why do they delete my edits entirely w/o even reading them? Why do they delete messages I leave on other Wikipedians' discussion pages??

Let's see some evidence for this "deleting messages", please. Camillus (talk) 00:45, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Well I am not a computer scientist, like some, and I can't prove it--I can only tell you that I have left messages on other Wikipedian's discussion pages, and when I checked back, knowing that Demiurge (most likely) has the power to delete such messages, I have found them gone, deleted. And I don't think the individuals in question deleted my messages themselves in disgust, as that is not Wikipedia protocol.

72.11.217.43 00:59, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Look I don't like them and they don't like me, but this censorship must end if Wikipedia is to be what it was envisioned to be.

The most contentious pages are:

Thank you, 72.11.217.43 00:33, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

This is yet another sock-puppet of User:Rms125a@hotmail.com, see recent Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Rms125a@hotmail.com. An RfA was also followed, but an admin decided that there was no need for arbitration, and banned Rms by acclimation, given his history of disgusting personal attacks and virulent POV pushing. This latest sock even went to the stage of attacking me personally in the article namespace of Irish-Scots.

Untrue-- I referred to Mr. McElhinney as a "noted social and computer scientist". 72.11.217.43 00:59, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

It doesn't seem to phase him in the slightest that not a single Scottish or Rangers-supporting wikipedian has supported this American's edits of this article or Celtic F.C. article, on the contrary, they have reverted his blatant sectarian POV edits - in fact a respected Rangers-supporting Wikipedian was subjected to a disgusting attack for reverting his vandalism.

What was the attack?? Proof?? Where is he?? 72.11.217.43 00:59, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

As for "constant contention" - this is disingenuous at best, given that he has found not a single other editor to agree with his bile. Camillus (talk) 00:45, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

As I say if Celestianpower wishes he/she can review my edits him/herself and see what I have written and what I can back up. And the contention I referred to was between myself and these wannabe censors/apologists. By the way, if they aren't harrassing and stalking me through wikicberspace, how did Camillus know I had left you a message, and why did he feel the need to respond here if I am so discredited a person??

Old Skool?[edit]

I was wondering what "old skool" referred to. Could you shed some light on this for me please? ~Linuxerist E/L/T 01:26, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

curiosity is cool[edit]

Hello, I was browsing through user pages again, trying to know stuff about people :-p, and I discovered Esperanza on your user page. I'm a bit (well, more than a bit) curious, and would like to know what it is about. For example, what kind of actions has been taken by it. I saw the official blahblah about linking those needing hope with those providing it and was wondering if I could put a request for girlfriend there. More seriously, what is it? Thanks :-) Kipmaster 09:46, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

DEMIURGE--HISTORY OF CENSORSHIP AND MANIPULATION[edit]

There is an editor on Wikipedia, Demiurge, who is a Catholic apologist and a censor. He/she has been caught red-handed by third-party Wikipedians trying to gut or censor anything he doesn't like (such as Ante Pavelic -- he tried to delete the categories of "Roman Catholic" and "war criminal" from Pavelic's site). He/she also took it on himself to demolish a wikipage called "Domestic terrorism in the United States", which I created, because he/she didn't like what it had to say about the Irish -- namely that the Irish were responsible for the three largest incidents of domestic terrorism in the U.S. (The Draft Riots, the bombing of the Los Angeles Times Building in 1910, and the bombing of the Oklahoma City Federal Building). He had it separated by topic to diminish the strength of the page. He also tried to gut the page called "Pre-Code" which was about, ironically, censorship of American movies by guess who!!! He wanted to remove any mention of the Roman Catholic church's role in movie censorship since 1934, and they had virtually the only role until the Production Code ceased to exist!!

It was Demiurge who started RfC and RfA against me, and he tried to posit that I was not allowed to edit while these were pending against me, an assertion rejected by "Bridesmill", another Wikipedian editor, regarding the refugee policies of the Eamon de Valera government during WWII.

Are you going to allow this censor and Catholic apologist and his supporters to collude and to determine what Wikipedians can and cannot read using boilerplate nonsense like "POV" to justify their censorship and manipulation??

I was banned from Wikipedia apparently because of my intemperate and injudicious exchanges with other editors, which Demiurge exploited. I admit that I can be hot-headed and injudicious in my language, which is always extemporaneous. The real reason, of course, for certain editors acting against me was to censor me.

I did not even bother to "attend" the arbitration hearing, but the only reason given for my being banned was that I had "exhausted the patience of the community" because I refused to allow them to censor and manipulate history. I was not accused of being untruthful or being a vandal. I said at my RfC that I would not back down unless I was proved wrong. How can I do otherwise when I know I am right, and even provide sourced/cited info. to back up my arguments to a mob determined to label anything they don't like as "POV", an abuse you might want to consider looking into.

You should review the history of "Demiurge"'s edits (which include edits against even "Anaraug"'s very modest and reluctant attempts at truthfulness on the Coogan page) and see what I am talking about.

Demiurge is a censor and a Catholic apologist, and what he/she will be able to do if he/she ever becomes an administrator is scary to contemplate.

Banes's withdrawal[edit]

Celestianpower,

As you may or may not be aware, Banes has withdrawn from the Esperanza Advisory Council elections. I have honored his wishes and done my best to withdraw his candidacy. As I have never been a part of the election staff before, I'm not entirely sure whether I did everything right as far as procedure goes (where to post the withdrawn votes, removal from the tally, etc.), but I did what made sense to me. Let me know if there was anything I should have done differently. Thanks! EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 06:10, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

Wikihalo[edit]

(laughs) Hey Cel, I was going to award you a wikihalo but it turns out you have to go through a proces... so I've decided to take the rip out of a wikihalo with a nomination! :P It looks kinda... dead. So all we have to do is vote and then close it in two weeks. Enjoy, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 18:13, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

It's an award that like 3 people have had, 2 of them being Angela and Jimbo... just accept and smile. (giggles) Foo-bar :P Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:56, 26 April 2006 (UTC)

My art room looks incredibly because there is brown sugar paper over everything my lazy art teacher couldn't be fecked to bring down. He's incredibly bizarre.. but good. Unlike my class.. Hey Cel, I was thinking about RfA for one day in the future and I was wondering you had any pointers or tips about what to do more of or when to apply. Cheers, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:26, 27 April 2006 (UTC)

Please help[edit]

Hi, i joined Esperanza recently, I have been a wikipedian for 3 months and helped promote JRR Tolkien to featured :) That's a little about me.

I want to request your help, as I am being abused by other wikipedians. I changed to label on Arsenal of democracy from "cleanup" to "NPOV" and another specific cleanup tag, as I thought it would be good to have specific things to clean up, and the article was generally very praising of FDR in a POV way. I recieved about an hour ago a huge diatribe from User:FrankB calling me all kinds of names, and I told him to leave me alone and he has refused, continuing to make dozens of insults against me, and I am flabbergasted as to what I have done that would cause this. Judgesurreal777 21:20, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

I've asked FrankB for his side of the story and gave Judge a wikihug. Hope everything's okay. Highway Rainbow Sneakers 21:35, 28 April 2006 (UTC)

Here's the rest of the story[edit]

  • As far as I'm concerned this is already a done deal, as my last post User talk:Judgesurreal777 includes at least two different apologies; I'll add one in here to you for sucking you in, because I did dump some frustrations. My HOT issue was not content, but one of failing to properly document in any acceptable manner the reasons for adding a npov template. I've spent several long periods traipsing back through history pages (e.g. Davy Crockett, and see Here) because of careless, thoughtless editing and summaries without leaving a record for the rest of us to follow; Note the similar comments in the below link to HereToHelp, who certainly knows better!
  • My basic pov on this, is if people are going to make such accusations (NPOV), they need to take responsibility and be held accountable to the rest of us for our time. So I was calling J-77 to account, pure and simple, but he apparently is uncomfortable with defending his behavior and actions.
  • Work herein is not some student assignment that people can or should be making half an effort on, and 'just turning it in' so the assignment won't count against some cumulative quiz grade. This wikiproject is part of the real world, some of us think it an important part.
  • Mistakes or actions of any sort may and do cost other real people real valuable discretionary time— thus leaving a edit trail in our work papers (to use an accounting term), 'our talk pages', is elementary and fundamental.
  • I'll again apologize for YOUR time, but maybe you can make these points to J-77, as he seems to be ignoring mine!
  • I find it offensive when someone assumes they can demand extra time from the rest of us for their unwillingness to be professionally thorough and complete. This is not a student assignment— it's volunteer work— emphasize WORK— not some game to see how fast one can build up edit counts, or do something to feel important.
  • Turns out I made a factual 'error', if you will, which was memory related. HereToHelp (See here) actually added the original npov template2 to a single statement. J-77's change (was unnecessary) 'damned' the whole article— but in the diff today that's all I saw sans documentation, the change made by 'J-77' (changed THAT to a general condemnation). (I haven't figured out why removing the one and replacing with the other doesn't show. None-the-less, I invited a whole boatload of people into comment on this nascent article just last week, and POV wasn't raised at all... so THAT FACT generates the rest of the heat when stoked and supercharged by J-77 posting NO RATIONALE OR COMMENTS whatever.
  • The clean vs. unref template change is a trifle, and as you can see, HtH's absence is also an issue on the original matter.
  • Frankly, I wish I'd never conceived of the article, I've too many other WikiIrons in the fire, and it had already disrupted most of two weeks work, even before HtH added the summation— which is the apparent target of J-77.
  • While I let a bit of accumulated frustration out using terms such as disrespecting others time, unprofessional, irresponsible, etc. about the ACTION more than calling names (I did use 'clown' and some other 'name' in a literary emphasis sense- it seemed better than the swear word I had in mind!)— in short I gave a dressing down for lack of consideration due to a careless, thoughtless edit— one which was in general still deserved —but see for yourself, the whole thread is here, but I see you've already seen it. So what more is to say?
  • My POV, is 'Michael' should revert the edit. I don't do reverts, I discuss, however forcefully. He thinks I'm badgering him. I said what I meant to say.
  • Thankyou for YOUR time, but this is a general issue, and I will confront irresponsible editors acting like high schoolers. Apparently, J-77 hasn't entered the workplace either, or getting a good chewing out wouldn't have him running for a protector.

Best wishes, FrankB 01:40, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

  • I've linked to this section on WP:BOLD Section, so please check the link after archiving this. Thanx FrankB 06:40, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

A favor please[edit]

Hello friend, do you remember me? In the month of September 2005, your vote had made me an administrator. we all know that the life here is exciting and full of challenges. I would request you to please spare fem moments for me, and favor me with your comments and suggestions (here please) on my performance as a wikipedian. Let us continue to build the Better than the Best global encyclopedia. Thank you and regards. --Bhadani 10:31, 29 April 2006 (UTC)

SOS for Sam Spade[edit]

Dear Celestianpower, There's an rfc on Sam Spade. They are sitting around and eating cookies while they hurl insults and make dumb yuccy social worker type comments about him. I actually feel like throwing up. Can you help him? Thanks, thewolfstar 18:57, 29 April 2006 (UTC)Maggie

Election issue[edit]

Celestianpower,

I wanted to get your opinion/ruling on an issue with confirming the election results. Cyde Weys placed a vote but is not on the members list for the election. I talked to him and he says that he did not put his name on the list because the list is used for spamming. Obviously we see him around quite a bit, including in the Esperanza IRC channel, but is he technically a member, and should his vote count? Thanks for your time, and let me know what you think. EWS23 | (Leave me a message!) 03:10, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

This is Moe[edit]

Hello Avriette, just thought I would let you know that I was leaving Wikipedia, but before I left, I finally got a picture of thyself of onto Wikipedia. (I know great timing for me to post a picture of myself, right?) This is my final gift to my friends. Later! PS. Try not to laugh to hard at my ugly mug ok? Moe ε 15:12, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

Hey, CP[edit]

Just wanted to see how you're doing. I saw your EA announcement on my talk page...I'm obviously not paying much attention to those anymore, but it reminded me of you (since you sent it, heh) and I wanted to check in and say hi. Hope everythings going well for you! Best wishes--ViolinGirl 20:15, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

And grrrr! that wasn't a reply, it was a "hi" in the edit summary. Out of habit I suppose. :rolls eyes: Ciao!--ViolinGirl 20:16, 30 April 2006 (UTC)
Well, I really have left (Wikipedia), but as you can see in my contributions, some things/people have called me back for a while. Anyway, glad everything is going well...I think about you once in a blue moon and wish the best. Everything's pretty much going well around here...violin's keeping me busy as usual. Played in my first competition last Saturday and won fourth prize, so that was fun. And, what a neat thing: {{subst:smile}} Cute template. Thanks! Okay, have a nice day!--ViolinGirl 21:25, 30 April 2006 (UTC)

A landslide victory for The JPS (aka RFA thanks)[edit]

Hey, Celestianpower/Archive26, thank you so much for your vote and comments in my RfA, which passed with an overwhelming consensus of 95/2/2. I was very surprised and flattered that the community has entrusted me with these lovely new toys. I ripped open the box and started playing with them as soon as I got them, and I've already had the pleasure of deleting random nonsense/attacks/copyvios tonight.
If I ever do anything wrong, or can help in some way, please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page, and I will do my best to correct my mistake, or whatever...
Now, to that bottle of wine waiting for me...

FAC Help[edit]

Hi, Celestianpower. I know you have your plate full by being administrator general and everything, but I was wondering if you could review an article for me. The article is National College Athletics Association (Phillipines), and it's currently on FAC. The nom is a bit vote-poor, so I was wondering if you had time, you could review the article and cast a vote. I'm open to criticism, and would actually welcome it. The only problem is sourcing. For that, you;d have to contact the original author, Circa 1900. Thanks for your time, RyanGerbil10 03:44, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

Admin, your help is needed in the above mentioned article. User:Grandmaster is ignoring major sources and pushes for a Turkish-nationalistic POV. Tajik 20:33, 5 May 2006 (UTC)
