The motto I use to describe myself is more carefully crafted than you think; it explains me from almost all characteristic angles. The "perverted feminist" part references my fascination and respect for pornographic/highly sexual topics while also declaring myself as a follower of fourth-wave feminism and even postfeminism. It can also be interpreted as me being a pervert with standards. When I say I'm dirty, I want to be a Kim Deal sort of dirty and not a Harvey Weinstein-type dirty. "Respectful sadist" is mainly about my dark humor and occasional schadenfreude views on life. I also self-deprecate, and maybe that's also a sadomasochistic thing. But I do not want to be an asshole. "Rational jackass" is also self-deprecating, but for a more natural reason. I know what I'm doing, saying, or intending, but sometimes I forget things or trail off just because. My memory isn't the sharpest. It's like 95% accurate. Maybe it's my high-functioning autism. "Virtual shrink" is about how I care or want to care. I care about my friends and want to know if they're okay. The virtual part references my unofficial, self-given status as a helper and my frequent usage of Discord.

In a more general view, the motto is a sort of poetry. The first three parts have words that contradict each other in attitude, yet their combination adds to the complications of my self-description. I'm a complicated person who wants to bring things about in an accessible fashion. But for some reason, the more complex a character is, the more people relate to this character or see it as human. Just as notably, the motto's word count is at 8. It is one of my favorite numbers; I see it as my lucky number. My Internet name is in eight letters. An eight-word sentence can be concise yet detailed. The number can also be modified into the infinity symbol, which has extra relevance to me as the neurodiversity symbol. My favorite Simpsons season is the eighth. South Park's best season is the eighth. Friends arguably had its best season at eight.

Lastly, notable eighth studio albums by their respective artists include but are not limited to Miles Davis All Star Sextet, Ella Fitzgerald Sings the Cole Porter Song Book, East Coasting, Songs for Distingué Lovers, Africa/Brass, Seven Steps to Heaven, How My Heart Sings!, The Beach Boys Today!, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, John Wesley Harding, Ballad of Easy Rider, Let It Bleed, Weasels Ripped My Flesh, Etta James Sings Funk, Lola Versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Histoire de Melody Nelson, Coat of Many Colors, The Dark Side of the Moon, Tanx, Burn, Diamond Dogs, Walls and Bridges, Veedon Fleece, Ghosts, Blues for Allah, Rastaman Vibration, Chicago X, Hejira, American Stars 'n Bars, JT, Bad Reputation, Simple Dreams, Street Hassle, Son of a Son of a Sailor, Hermit of Mink Hollow, George Harrison, No. 1 in Heaven, Bop Till You Drop, The Game, The Wanderer, Moving Pictures, Computer World, Fire of Unknown Origin, Discipline, For Those About to Rock We Salute You, Green Light, Ambient 4: On Land, Blackout, Avalon, Screaming for Vengeance, Music for a New Society, The Nylon Curtain, Eliminator, Swordfishtrombones, Too Tough to Die, 25 O'Clock, Scarecrow, This Nation's Saving Grace, Done with Mirrors, Parade, Tunnel of Love, I'm Your Man, Land of Dreams, Disintegration, Flowers in the Dirt, Eye, Worlds in Collision, Dangerous, Automatic for the People, Songs of Faith and Devotion, Zooropa, Let Love In, Alien Lanes, Nihil, The Great Southern Trendkill, I Can Hear the Heart Beating as One, Tubthumper, Zaireeka, The Gathering, Two Against Nature, Music, Nation, The Well, Glitter, Fever, By the Way, Sea Change, Kimi Ga Suki, St. Anger, Quebec, The Black Album, Margerine Eclipse, Ghost Reveries, Aerial, Pearl Jam, Hello Everything, Hissing Fauna, Are You the Destroyer?, Beyond, Send Away the Tigers, Hey Venus!, Jukebox, Rising Down, The Lucky Ones, Raw Footage, Merriweather Post Pavilion, 21st Century Breakdown, Before the Frost...Until the Freeze, Before Today, Belle and Sebastian Write About Love, Let England Shake, The King of Limbs, Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, The Whole Love, Always, Words and Music by Saint Etienne, Oceania, Damage, Hesitation Marks, The Marshall Mathers LP 2, Turn Blue, They Want My Soul, Resurrection, Primus & the Chocolate Factory with the Fungi Ensemble, Sonic Highways, Vulnicura, No Cities to Love, Untethered Moon, The Magic Whip, Anti, Gore, Nonagon Infinity, A Crow Looked at Me, Post Self, Age Of, Bottle It In, Life Metal, I Am Easy to Find, Everyday Life, Alphabetland, The Waterfall II, Gaslighter, folklore, The Ascension, Blue Banisters, kiCK iiiii, Zeit, Home, Before and After, Life Is But a Dream..., Átta and Cowboy Carter.

You may be unnerved by how unusually open this page and infobox is about myself, down to nearly every detail but a few big ones. Well, I guess that's a result of having to reintroduce myself so many times over the years, so hopefully this is the icebreaker to kill all icebreakers. Along with not being that concerned about Internet privacy; I mean, exactly how much of this is wrong? And besides, even I've some standards on mentioning private information, so would you be reassured with that? Someone looked at my motto and assumed I frequent 4chan. I can see his point, and I'm very aware of 4chan and reddit. I admit I lurk their threads occasionally, and they're very central websites, though I'm not that big of a fan of both. You're allowed to strike up a conversation with me any time! I'm pretty laid-back and I try to be chill yet consistent in conversations. Just not here. And not with Discord. Yes, my Discord username is too personal. Told you I have some standards!

"Fear is excitement without oxygen." – My second high school therapist

Background[edit]

I was born on July 14, 2003, to a couple of immigrants and was raised in Marietta, Georgia. I am a recent American-born citizen; nearly everyone in my family is Brazilian. On December 2010, my immediate family moved to California, where I spent the remainder of my K-12 education. I first lived in an apartment in Richmond, then a house in Rodeo. After elementary, my parents switched school districts and moved to Albany. I am an Albany Unified School District (AUSD) student; I was an honors student at Albany Middle, while my time at Albany High was partly disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. I currently reside somewhere in the Southern states. (Jesus, I love him.)

I started to take an interest in social media starting in 4th grade when I dreamed of being a YouTuber, then registering my own Google account just before beginning high school. I have some wiki-related accounts besides Wikipedia as a hobby, with Know Your Meme and TV Tropes being my top favorite websites. My #1 reason for being on Wikipedia is for philanthropic contribution. The one thing I put above my interests is the well-defined standards of the Wikimedia Foundation itself. My dream is to be a polymath. I intend my career to be centered around visual art, animation and music and dabbling into writing, comedy, film, politics, video games and Internet-based interactions.

Activity and philosophy[edit]

I registered on January 27, 2022, alongside other wiki-related accounts from TV Tropes, Know Your Meme, and the Bad Webcomics Wiki. I was recovering from post-depression stress, so I only got into editing once I had it with so many minor flaws scattered across hundreds of articles. I made a couple of unregistered edits a month earlier, adding the short description for Lushsux. My first edit under this account was for Carol Leifer (I was watching Seinfeld then), and I got into editing on November 29, 2022. I created this page on December 18. How time flies. I became an extended confirmed user on April 8, 2023.

As of now, I'm getting well used to my editing skills, but not to an intermediate point. At least 70% of my edits are minor and relate to polishing; these include capitalization fixes (my biggest category, thanks to definite articles in names and AllMusic), adding and changing image captions, and moving around which links should be embedded into what, when and how often. Most of them are passersby edits, so please assume good faith in what I'm doing. Now and then, I will make more significant edits, such as revising sentences or even paragraphs, replacing or selecting images, or retitling sections. I don't frequently read the help and about pages, as informative as they are, because I'll learn (almost) just as much if I edit along. I've been aware of Wikipedia's GA and FA standards through years of thorough reading. My edits on Nevermind were the first to evolve beyond minor corrections, and my skills grew enough for me to revamp the structures of entire articles, though mostly without adding any citations. Collectively, I spent the most of my editing with Pet Sounds.

My patterns of where I edit on Wikipedia are parallel to my interests or going through some wikihole (I call it a tab/page tunnel), some stream of consciousness direction; this way, I can look for lower-quality articles more quickly. As a Beach Boys fan, I focus the most on the Pet Sounds and SMiLE articles, these being among my favorite albums. I also focus on these two because they're currently at B-class, meaning they're of great general quality yet flawed enough, so I can further understand the writing Wikipedia requires through experimentation and an opportunity for extensive reading. I argue that academically, any Wikipedia article that's unanimously B-class in quality is a trustworthy minimum.

My main category for editing articles is music because of my strong interest and aspiration to become a musician and because hundreds of thousands of music articles (mainly albums) could be better. Thirdly, I am convinced there needs to be more devotion to highly acclaimed albums, songs, and musicians. I believe more Wikipedia editors are devoted to acclaimed video game titles and subjects than that of music. I have nothing personal against this as a gamer, and plenty of editors are in that field of devotion. But I find it unusual that even with Beatles articles, the number of quality articles for albums and songs feels weird. It could be because there's less visible critical consensus on which albums are unanimously given the most treatment in popularity or that the majority of editors are Millennials, who grew up in a time when gaming was at a peak, and the album era was no longer a big deal by then. I also suspect it was naturally much more difficult to find information on albums before the 21st century, as more information on such products was noted in books or other physical publications in the pre-Internet era. As a side note, go to Acclaimed Music if you are searching for a near-perfect critical consensus on music akin to the list of video games considered the best article. Or the list of photographs considered the most important article.

My leading platforms for editing are my MacBook Air and iPhone. I mainly use visual editing; I use source editing if specific areas are too complicated. The Wikipedia mobile app mostly allows source editing, which I'm okay with as much as the app is a 3.5/5 in quality. (Using this to request that symbols like barnstars and locks be visible, along with improving night mode design and apostrophe coding.) Funny how I've learned the most from coding for the first time in five years. The app's limitations make my edits on particular articles seem more fragmented.

Occasionally I have to use resources unrelated to the Wikimedia Foundation. I use Deezer and my subscription with it to look for and add certain track listings, but no earlier than June 1, 1999, the day Napster was founded. I adhere to this because physical releases, especially LPs and even CDs, have differing song lengths, along with changes resulting from remasters or remixes. Thus I only use Deezer on albums that were on streaming services at the time of their original release. Otherwise, I use DollarTimes for more manual calculating. In order to submit album covers under fair use, this image resizer does the job.

Everything mentioned on an infobox should always be said outside of it and elaborated after the intro paragraphs; for instance, if the subject is an album, its cover should be noted, and its total length must be added to the track listing. I make sure specific mentions or ideas after that are not repeated or presented with redundancy to keep the overall information concise and linear. Consistency is one of my most important priorities. Such edits include removing sentences that repeat particular words or references (as in two citations with a near-identical source) or keeping a specific order of sections as a standard (like having "Packaging" listed before "Release and reception" or putting "Outtakes" as a subsection). (Do NOT misuse the see also and external links sections, damn you) I also try to lower the amount of fair-use images by deleting those that are too similar or unnecessary. Whenever I ponder if something needs editing, I look through more well-refined articles and find a specific detail I can apply for my edits to increase this website's consistent quality.

If you're an unregistered user, I hope you'll understand that my wariness about you guys is natural; I simply cannot trust unregistered users as much as those with an account. At the same time, none of what I do is personal, in spite of all the articles I've edited, and I do my best to make sure any personal opinions are kept to this page and this page only.

Wikipedia is such a fascinating and significant website with its standards in writing and editing. I credit my time here for leading to a rejuvenation in high productivity and a desire for learning, which includes my enthusiasm for college. I wish to contribute from as many angles as I desire, and I'm also willing to learn something new on a website I greatly respect. A bucket list item of mine is to be a head contributor to a featured article that will retain its status for at least ten years. If you want something done, the fastest way is through your own hands.

Favorite articles at GA-class or higher[edit]

This section got so huge it inevitably needed its own page now. Any article I like at GA, A-class, or FA would be on said page. It's my way of expressing gratitude for the overall efforts on this website.

As a sample, here are ten such articles that I most appreciate, unordered.

More personal stuff[edit]

This editor is a Grognard Extraordinaire and is entitled to display this Wikipedia Vest Pocket Edition.

I'm an ex-weeaboo. I nicknamed myself Carlinal after my number one idol George Carlin, beginning c. November 12, 2018. I'm not that rude, I really try. Sometimes I feel shy, and sometimes I get a little too confident, but I always give myself an ego check, and I get concerned for others' well-being. I'm also very open to new ideas and big ideas, and I sometimes get so outward on things, even controversial subjects, that, uh, that's when conflict usually starts. Got me banned from Know Your Meme's Official Discord Server. :/ Not helped by how jaded I've become and how nearly everything I say is a form of venting. Even online, I get lonely.

I'm a "reconstructionist," an anti-nihilist, of determined optimism. Not precisely like existentialism. I'm not a conformist in politics, economics, or religion, but I am for American law. I do not wish to indulge as an iconoclast either; I never wanted to spend most of my life unmatched. I wish to master speaking and writing five languages: American English, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese (hiragana and katakana), Mexican Spanish, and American Sign Language.

Life advice[edit]

  • Nothing is sacred. Nothing. The Holy Bible, sure, that kind of stuff, but nothing more. Let it go.
  • Never forget your roots. You need to move on from the past, but forgetting it is also forgetting why the present exists in the first place and why you are the way you are.
  • Get good at sex with your partner before marriage. If you need sexual activity in your relationship, it will be unhealthy to avoid it early on. And your honeymoon deserves the best.
  • The worst kind of person is a shitty parent.
    • NEVER yell or show intense anger towards your children. You have no idea how valuable this will be to your impact as a parent. Kids aren't that emotionally strong.
    • This is child abuse.
    • Little kids are fun to hang out and play with and to care for, but teenagers are more interesting. That's when their individualism starts.
    • You suck as a parent if your care towards your children is less thoughtful after preadolescence.
    • Teenhood is not a phase; it is a process from post-childhood to adulthood. That process often begins painfully. And sometimes it does not end at 18.
    • Sometimes you must accept the perspective of seeing your parents as just people, including comparing your parental roles with yourself.
    • Whatever advice you give yourself should not be a problem if your kids copy it. (Unless, of course, you don't follow said advice anymore.)
    • Do not shun them for more than 24 hours.
    • Please say something or optimistic or encouraging to them at least once a week.
  • Bigotry is judging people by their identity, the what of them, rather than their personality, experiences, interests, intelligence, and opinions, the who of them.
    • Class and religious and political alignments are part of their identity, but opinions of such are not. It's what you do with your alignments that matter.
  • The more complex your personality is, the better.
  • True love is when someone loves you for you. All of you. No matter what.
  • A date is just another day where you spend time with your partner. Expect no expectations.
  • Show respect to the secular world of society. Even Phil Vischer cited Monty Python as an influence. The future is a lot of things, but it is and will be secular. It's a breather and an opportunity as a world to bring people together regardless of what they are.
  • You should read about someone's personality and history as much as possible before thinking twice about beginning to interact with them.
  • Don't believe in public relations.
  • Never trust the morality of a billionaire.
  • George Carlin can make stronger commandments with two or three than God and Moses can with ten.
  • High school education is more important than college education because you can make too many careers and lives without ever needing a college degree.
  • Know about the basics of politics, even if you want to avoid having them on your mind in the future. You can't pretend this stuff is nonexistent anymore.
  • Progressivism is a required trait in decent humanity. The reactionary is the Devil of modern politics, this being increasingly recognized since the Clinton era, mainly because almost every last politician within the "Grand Old Party" replaced reason and reflection with agenda and narcissism; a key moment is Rupert Murdoch's creation of Fox News. Eisenhower and Ford would not identify as Republican if it means 21st century Republicanism.
  • Patriotism is the cousin of nationalism. That's why I don't wear flags.
  • There's always going to be someone better than you, and there's always going to be someone worse than you. Let competition be a slight motivator, don't let your ego take over; always believe you can do better.
  • Give yourself an ego check at least twice a day. An ego check is when you ask yourself, "Am I acting egotistical right now? An asshole? A bitch? A douchebag? An arrogant fagtard of scumfuckery? If so, is it more than needed?" Sometimes the idea of ego makes you want to be humble again.
  • There is no limit to using the shit out of the Control/Command + F feature. Speeds up your search processing over ten times faster.
  • Go on your notes app and make a collection of quotes that connect you. What inspires or motivates you, what you feel or relate to, of people you love or hate, poems, posts, shitposts, even a collection of last words. Think about those words and their authors now and then.
  • The bigger your bucket list, the bigger your purpose in life.

Thank you for reading. I'll see you around. _(v•.•)_
