Salted Pages[edit]

Although, there's no hard and fast rule, Salted pages can be deleted after a few months, unless its a topic we absolutely never want creating. To quote from the policy: "Nearly all older protected deleted pages should be permanently deleted after a few months"

Alternatively, we now have Wikipedia:Protected titles which articles can be listed at instead of having the template. --Robdurbar 15:13, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

The end of editthis.info?[edit]

Do you have definite information that editthis.info has been terminated? It would be a disaster for me, in terms of the information I have stored there (and only there). Thegn 17:03, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

I too have been pulling my hair out over the absence of editthis.info for the past days. But I've just had an email from Rob Kohr to say that it's back, and indeed it seems to be. I think he needs to work out a way of warning all his users about planned down-time. Thegn 19:25, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

There is a blog here for updates: http://www.constantsun.com/blog/category/editthisinfo/ and the down-time was unplanned (network outage due to ice storm). -RobKohr

Re: Question[edit]

For a list of drawbacks of template subsitution, see WP:SUBST#Drawbacks of substitution. I think the main reason that {{deletedpage}} shouldn't be substituted is that the "What links here" link doesn't show all the pages the template has been put on. Something a learned yesterday, though: {{deletedpage}} is obsolete, due to Wikipedia:Protected titles being created, so in a few months when the template isn't used so much anymore, it will probably be deleted. –Llama man 22:56, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

Patchouli[edit]

I'm sorry that I ended up banning Patchouli permanently, but I eventually realized that he is beyond redemption. Back in October, I tried to get him to stop his vandalism, and he wouldn't listen. I took off from Wikipedia for a while, assuming he'd be gone or reformed by the time I got back, but he still hasn't. I'm not sure if he's reformable. If he does reform himself, then he'd be welcomed back, but not until then. In any event, if he makes a new user account from a different IP address, he is violating Wikipedia policy and will be immediately banned again as soon as he is discovered. I hope you can help me undo his bad edits that remain. LittleDantalk 02:38, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for the support. ;^) Crum375 04:40, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

My RfA[edit]

Yeah, shut her on down...so sad. I appreciate the pity vote, at least now it wasn't a shut-out. Thanks. Wikipediarules2221 08:28, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

IP socks[edit]

Sure, go ahead. :) Btw, good username. :) Used to own a 2001 Century. Good car. --WoohookittyWoohoo! 08:50, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

That's a good template. I'll start using it; you should list it on WP:SOCK. coelacan talk — 08:55, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Oh, it's not dropping in the category though. coelacan talk — 08:56, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Compare [1] and [2] ... Categories: Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets of Nkras | Suspected Wikipedia sockpuppets coelacan talk — 08:59, 21 February 2007 (UTC)
Okay. I'll go over the Nkras category with it then. coelacan talk — 09:24, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

By the way, do you know if there's a template like {{IPvandal}} that also provides a direct link to a the userpage? Seeems like that's the one thing that template is missing. coelacan talk — 09:27, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

You're awesome. =D coelacan talk — 09:35, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

David Freeman (musician)[edit]

I'm not sure how you didn't find enough relevant Google hints, but based on what I found, you might want to revisit the AFD nomination you made. - Mgm|(talk) 12:15, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Less than 2 monhs till Opening Day[edit]

Hey, I'm also from the NY metropolitian area. I can tell by your name that you can't wait for the 2007 season to begin after watching the Mets fall to the Cards last October. Do you live in NYC? BuickCenturyDriver (Honk, odometer) 07:31, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Oh yeah, can't wait! I think this might be a lucky year (hopefully we got the losses out of our system with that loss to the Cardinals and we're ready to win) If only it worked like that ;-) —METS501 (talk) 13:45, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Closing RfA of User:Wikipediarules2221[edit]

I see you closed Wikipediarules2221. This was the correct course of action. I noticed two mistakes however: While it was closed per the nom's request, that request was not listed in the RfA and you did not include a link to it. Also, you forgot to archive the request at Wikipedia:Unsuccessful adminship candidacies/W or User:NoSeptember/List of failed RfAs (Chronological). —Dgiest c 18:31, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi![edit]

I'm doing fine, thank you. Signed, your friendly neighborhood MessedRocker. 11:53, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

Arthur Zorn something[edit]

Please note that when closing and AFD, the closing tags need to go around the entire nomination (which includes the page title). Someone fixed it for you, but they should've put your closure rationale above the title. Please make sure you do this next time. It's just a little thing, but it makes AFD look a lot cleaner. - Mgm|(talk) 12:13, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

There are other errors: the decision should be put above article title, and the article was not deleted.Cate | Talk 12:50, 22 February 2007 (UTC)

I'm kinda new here, so forgive my lack of knowledge. Now, I understand that Arthur Bruno Zorn was moved to User:Bmrbarre/Arthur Bruno Zorn, and I know that it was up for deletion (which seems idiotic, as he is well-known locally for his music and art: he recently had an art show dedicated to him entitled Zorn). Why did this happen? Care to explain? .Bmrbarre | Discussion

Hey[edit]

I'm going to go ahead and report the edit you reverted from Crystallization to WP:RFO. It contains personal information and should be deleted outright, I believe the vandal was trying to get people to email someone else with complaints or attacks. --Nevhood 03:50, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

Never mind, it was just an email address, I doubt it will cause that much trouble. --Nevhood 03:53, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Hmm, on second thought... maybe I should, what do you think? I'm going to ask someone else for advice. --Nevhood 03:55, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
Yes, you're probably right. --Nevhood 03:58, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

My RfA[edit]

I would like to take this chance to thank you for your support vote and suggestions in my recent RfA that unfortunately was closed early because it was unlikely to reach consensus. I do believe in a fair Wikipedia and therefore will keep up my editing and maybe request later on in the year. Regards, Extranet (Talk | Contribs) 05:53, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

RfA[edit]

Thank you for the (at this point still premature) congratulations. If they leave it up another day perhaps I'll be immortalized on WP:100. Marskell 15:47, 24 February 2007 (UTC)

Block templates deleted[edit]

Hello BuickCenturyDriver. I've deleted several templates you recently created in accordance with prior community decisions (templates, categories). We decided that such blocks should be tagged with {{indefblockeduser}}, with any additional information in the block log. I'm sorry for deleting any work you put into them, but please do not recreate them without demonstrating a change in community consensus. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me on my talk page. :) —{admin} Pathoschild 05:48:27, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

That's okay. I didn't know that you that the templated I created were deleted before. I removed them from my front page and if I need to use them, I'll use my subspace if that's okay with you (e.g. User:BuickCentryDriver/abctmplate). BuickCenturyDriver (Honk, odometer) 09:13, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
That's fine. If you do create personal templates, please remember to categorize user pages to Category:Temporary Wikipedian userpages (except sockpuppets). :) —{admin} Pathoschild 18:31:58, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to VandalProof![edit]

I fixed the approval bug from last night. Betacommand (talkcontribsBot) 15:53, 26 February 2007 (UTC)

Re: Hello[edit]

Hi there. I'm fine and you? I assume you saw my name because of User:Wikiadmin2. I usually don't bother tagging the user pages because it save the prodding and deleting later on. But it makes it easer for other editors if it is. Cheers. CambridgeBayWeather (Talk) 22:38, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
