Is Michael Masecchia Indictment Related to Recent Buffalo Mob Activity?[edit]

Michael is married to Bart T. Mazzara's daughter Krista.

D'Youville College graduates Krista Mazzara and Michael Anthony Masecchia exchanged nuptial vows during a ceremony performed by Monsignor William A. Schwinger at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Louis Catholic Church.

Mr. and Mrs. Bart T. Mazzara of Amherst are the bride's parents. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nazzareno Masecchia of Colvin Avenue. A reception was given in the Statler Golden Ballroom in Statler Towers before the couple left for St. Thomas. They will be at home in North Tonawanda.

A graduate also of Mount St. Mary Academy, the bride is an accounting supervisor for Home Care Support Services Inc. The bridegroom, a Bennett High School graduate, is a substitute teacher in Grover Cleveland High School.[1]

Bart T. Mazzara was identified as a made member of the Buffalo crime family.

The international's documents name Todaro, Falzone, BiFulco, Salvatore Cardinale, John Catanzaro, Sam Frangiamore, Bart Mazzara, Robert Panaro, Donald Panepinto, Joseph Pieri Jr., John A. Pieri, Joseph Rosato, Daniel Sansanese Jr., Victor Sansanese, Louis Sicurella and Vincent Sicurella as having "membership" in the mob.[2]

A criminal complaint was issued Michael Masecchia after an August 28 search of his Main Street revealed his possession of explosives, weapons, money, cocain and marijuana that indicated his involvement in possible drug trafficking.

"During the search of the residence, agents discovered a canvas bag in a closet in the master bedroom," agents said in court papers. "Within that bag agents discovered the homemade explosives, the digital scale, six sandwich style bags containing marijuana and the suspected cocaine."

Agents said one of the guns, a Kel-Tec semi-automatic rifle, was discovered between the mattress and box spring in the master bedroom with a loaded magazine on the nightstand. They are awaiting the results of tests to determine whether the suspected explosives are capable of being detonated.

In addition to the guns and explosives, investigators seized three Mason jars of marijuana, liquid and tablet steroids, hypodermic needles, THC edibles, cannabis syrup and two grams of a white powder suspected to be cocaine.

Investigators said the nearly $28,000 in cash was found hidden in clothing, rolled into two bundles and held together by rubber bands.[3]
