Thomas Bangalter[edit]

Thomas Bangalter was born January 3, 1975. He started to play the piano at a six years old. He has also produced music for the Stardust project and for the film Irréversible. Bangalter has also teamed up with DJ Falcon under the name Together and released two tracks: "Together" and "So Much Love to Give." Thomas Bangalter owns a music label called Roulé. He is the father of a son, Tara-Jay, with his wife, French actress Élodie Bouchez. He performed all keyboard parts on the fellow Parisian band Phoenix's first album United. His music is known as French house or (filter house/tekfunk).

Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo[edit]

Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo was born February 8, 1974. At a young age, Guy-Manuel got a small guitar and small keyboard for Christmas. At age 14, Guy-Manuel got his first real electric guitar. He's also a co-founder of the group "Le Knight Club". The band is formed by Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo & Éric Chedeville (from Pumpking Records). They are the founders of the Crydamoure record label. Guy-Manuel is credited for designing the Daft Punk logo in the liner notes of Homework.

History[edit]

Thomas met Guy-Manuel at Lycee Carnot in Paris in 1987. Quickly, both of them recognized their musical talents. Within a few years, at age 16 or 17, they started to make original tracks. They both agreed that the meaning of success was to enjoy themselves while making music. Their debut album, Homework, released January 20, 1997 has sold over 2 million copies. Both of them wanted to show that it is possible to create something in such a basic place with little equipment. After the release of Homework, both of them realized that if the music they created was famous, the attention would be directed towards them. Wanting the attention to be towards the music, they started showing up to photoshoots in robotic helmets. Their story is 9:09 am, September 9, 1999, the sampler they were working on exploded. When they woke up, they had become robots. They claim that their music is a combination of their new robotic beings and their original parts. This is obviously an excuse not to show their faces. This section is yet to be completed XD
