Nazari began painting at an early age, studied art at the School of Art & Architecture in Tabriz, Iran and received her BFA there in 2007. Her undergraduate education was spent acquiring traditional, direct observational skills in drawing and painting. She moved to the United States in 2011 and earned her MFA from the State University of New York, New Paltz in 2014.

Career

Her curiosity, imaginative use of different mediums and distinctive methodology has won her acclaim. Known for large scale, post-modernist paintings and installations, her concern for architectonic forms in space and the resulting investigations into ancient and contemporary architecture have provided the constant theme uniting all of her work. Floating, collapsing and shifting environments, fictitious structures situated within imaginary landscapes root in her journeys and contain metaphors for the unsettled sensations formed when living in a dissimilar culture.

Honors

Nazari has exhibited at galleries and museums in the United States and abroad and has received a number of artist residencies and fellowships.
