Bricks by the Bay is a non-profit organization which puts on an annual convention for LEGO artists, hobbyists, and fans, providing an opportunity for them to meet, share ideas, and display and share their creations made of LEGO bricks - known as My Own Creations. The convention exhibit hall is open to the public on the last day of the event. Bricks by the Bay, Inc., is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and it and its events are entirely volunteer-run.
Besides exhibit space, the Bricks by the Bay convention features lectures, workshops, roundtable discussions, contests, and other events. These are held on the first two days (Friday and Saturday) of the convention.
The first Bricks by the Bay convention was held April 9-11, 2010, at the Fremont Marriott Silicon Valley hotel in Fremont, California.
The second Bricks by the Bay convention will be held March 25-27, 2011, at the Hyatt Regency Santa Clara hotel, adjacent to the Santa Clara Convention Center, in Santa Clara, California.
