Wollaston Village FC is a local community football club located in Wollaston, Stourbridge, West Midlands, England.

History[edit]

Wollaston Village FC was founded on Sunday 5th January 2014 after a conversation between Ben Watkins, Andy Kirby, Ricky Fitzgerald and Drew Adams in The Unicorn public house, Wollaston. It took 23 league and cup games in season 2014/15 before the club gained it's first competitive win... a 3-0 win over Cookley Sports away at Lea Lane.

Colours and badge[edit]

Wollaston Village FC's colours are red and black, sometimes with stripes as per AC Milan, but recently plain red shirts with a black detail on the chest..

The WVFC badge features a Spartan soldier's helmet in recognition of the club's 'never say die' reputation from the 2014/15 formation season.

Stadium/Grounds[edit]

Wollaston Village FC plays their home matches at Brown Westhead Park in Wolverley, Worcestershire, but have ambitions to have their own ground in the future. They have previously played at Swan Pool/South Road and Handrahan Timbers/Mile Flat stadium.

Supporters & Rivalries[edit]

Wollaston Village FC have a core following from Stourbridge and the surrounding areas and their fans are generally considered to be well behaved, but with a LOT of banter. As the club is sponsored by and based at The Britannia Sports Bar, the club contests several games against other Brit-based clubs in different 'El Britico' derbies.
