Re:Gopalakrishna Adiga

Yes, I am. Mr.Adiga was a poet and writer in Kannada. I always wanted to create an article about him, which I guess will do soon. Unfortunately I don't have any offhand information or citations on him to refer. Gnanapiti 18:44, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

OK, I just saw that you have created an article on him. Good job. I'll be adding infobox, image and few other information to that article. Thanks, Gnanapiti 18:45, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
Let me take a look at my Kannada literature book by R Narasimhacharya and see what I can dig up.Dineshkannambadi 19:21, 19 February 2007 (UTC)

Precedent

There is precedent for its inclusion. It is the only article that includes any details of what was done to the mosque, and there are other articles in the category that also just reference events without specifically being about that individual event. And, that wasn't "sockpuppetry". That's me simply being too lazy to sign in, until of course you decided to threaten me, which you don't have the authority to do. Have a nice day.

This is regarding our comments here.[2]. Under the "Comments by others". I was wanting to delete our argument under this section as its irrelevant, and will only be a distraction. Indian mathematics

Greetings, I was involved in the RfC in Indian mathematics. My efforts were directed towards creating a version such as this one, as compared to the this, this and this version. My efforts initially began with removing misrepresentation of quotaions and then I tried providing some of the "citations needed" tags with actual citations. The situation resulted into an RfC, timed during my examinations, to which I could admittedly, not work on adequately. Fowler&fowler has asked me to work with him but since I am sitting my examinations and the article has been edited extensively since the RfC by other editors I no longer can keep up the pace. My exams will continue and after that I will be leaving, taking a few days off WP. I have reviewed my future with the Indian mathematics article, and have come to the conclusion that since I am under time constraints and am under such pressure in real life that adequate responses or editing actions on "Indian mathematics" are just not possible for me right now. I can't contribute to it in the manner that I usually would; it would be unethical to the extreme to ask the other editors, who have wished me well during my examination, to wait. The article is under the watch of many good editors and I see and hope that it's quality benefits from the present situation. Many regards, Freedom skies| talk  02:02, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

India Demographics

Because of India's rich diversity, no one image can represent all of India's one billion people. That is why I propose selecting a new demographics image every three months. This would allow for a regional balance and would show India as a whole. Many people have agreed that this is the only way to represent India's rich and varied diversity. Since you have voted for a change in the demographics section, I wanted to update you on this proposal. I would love to hear your comments on talk:India. Thanks so much. Have a great day!

Ahom kings

You have categorized many Ahom kings as "Hindu monarchs". This is rather inappropriate, because all the Ahom kings concurrently followed their traditional religion. Furthermore many of the later kings encouraged the the sakta form of Hinduism because the Mahapuruxia religions were challenging the royal Ahom rule in many ways. These sects were very severely persecuted and many pontifs were executed. So it might be more accurate not to categorize them as Hindu monarchs. Chaipau 23:15, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

If it is difficult to distinguish Hinduism when tribal religions are present concurrently, then why attempt a distinction? It becomes just another flavor of a tribal religion. But that is not what I suggest. The Ahom kings cannot be called Hindu kings because they used their initiation in certain sects of Hinduism to suppress some other sects, all along maintaining their fealty to their traditional religion. This was part of their statecraft. What is also very important is their persecution of the neo-Vaishnavites in Assam. Chaipau 00:32, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
You seem to agree that there are problems classifying the Ahom kings as Hindus and yet want to categorize them. I suggest you de-categorize them. Chaipau 01:18, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

I have started working on the article Education in Bangladesh. It was in an extremely bad shape. The last few edits were turning it into a motley hotchpotch of text, link and image for private university/English medium agenda-pushers. Even without that the article had little content. Appreciate your epigrammatic responses , but I can reply only when you respond to my query as to " Whats the point you are making or what is the rationale of your question ? "

to my above query you directed me back to an edit I made ....but in order for me to give you a reply I need to know "whats the point you are making or what is the rationale of your question ?" Your question is based on an implication or an assumption ....arising from my edit ...now have you read all my edits on this topic to deduce anything ,that would lead you to ask a question which to me seems an incorrect inference .

Would you like this edit undone ? is that your reason ? if yes then why would you like it removed ...? are you going to redirect again ...becaause then I will have to redirect you to my Query . Cheers Intothefire 11:20, 25 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes then , I relooked at this , you are right and I was wrong to put this category , because it is conveying the wrong impression , which I had no intention of . Hello again mate. Thank you for your kind response. I didn't mean to edit the categories but from what I know about the caste system in India it has been historically linked to Hinduism because the system there developed among Hindus. Caste system among South Asian Muslims and Caste system among Indian Christians also link to categories of their respective religions. Since you mentioned Islam and slavery, I checked that article out too and it links to a category with "Islam" in the title. Let me know what you think. Agoras 05:50, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Heh. 99% of them obviously don't mean it; of the remainder, 99% aren't on the same continent as me so can be discounted; of the remainder, 99% aren't in the same country as me and can also be discounted; of the remainder (one person so far) my exact location remains a mystery to them. Therefore, total likelihood of being murdered over Wikipedia matters = ±0%
As for the math, well, when I got the first death threat in late 2004, I started a graph in OpenOffice. Each mail that is reasonable, I add one in one column; each mail that is homicidal, I add another in a different column. It amuses me to do so. Yes, I'm that strange! :o) The proportion has always been the same, at about 3 times the proportion who want to kill me for deleting their article about their band, teacher, neighbor or homosexual friend. I have no information on why incorrectly licensed images make people more homicidal. RΞDVΞRSЯΞVΞЯSΞ 23:49, 26 March 2007 (UTC)

Yes. Thanks for informing. I'll try to collect as much info as I can. It shouldn't be difficult since Google returns number of newspaper articles regarding Sukhanand Shetty. Gnanapiti 17:35, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
