San Francisco Bay Area Rail Map[edit]
For the past few years, I have been working with the code for the Route Diagram Template and using the markup to make a map of all the rail systems of the San Francisco Bay Area. It was an exercise that was meant to push the boundaries of the template and highlight the various connections throughout the system. Every effort was given to make the map north-oriented, however, exceptions had to be made to keep the project within the boundaries of the template. At first, the map ended up to be too large and it was impossible to complete without breaking it into pieces. However, with the breakthrough of the new Routemap template, I was finally able to merge the map into one continuous map for the first time. As various stations and lines are built and put into service, I'll update the map to reflect the current state. If I've overlooked any detail, feel free to message me and I'll have a look. Amtrak California[edit]
My second major project with the Route Diagram Template, this map shows the routes of Amtrak lines in the state of California. While not as complex, I thought it would be interesting to build as it would not take up too much time. Take a look! BT14 (talk) 22:43, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
BART color lines map[edit]
One thing that has been a drawback to using the routemap icons is how color cannot always be used to differentiate service lines like how typical metro maps would otherwise depict to help identify destinations for passengers. Your choice is limited to red or blue and that's it. User YLSS has a alternate set of icons using all sorts of colors and seeing as BART really only uses 5 (6 if you could the airport connector), I thought maybe enough icons exist to code BART into routemap using the actual line colors. UPDATE: Well, I've learned a few things about spacing and after seeing other articles use the template to make more accurate maps as opposed to the schematic-based linear maps, I gave it a go and have made a pretty good stab at the BART map! BT14 (talk) 18:26, 30 December 2022 (UTC)
