organization NKGB/MGB

The the organization structure of the MGB was mainly extended continuation of NKGB structure. NKGB organization structure at the Moscow center was determined by the decision of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the All-Union Communist Party of Bolsheviks Nr P40/91 and declared by Resolution of the Council of Ministers of the USSR No.1881-792ss. With time it was expended by taking more and more operational and none operational units out of former NKVD from 1946 MVD.
The structure of the NKGB of the USSR by the end of 1945 was consisted of six (6) operational directorates and five (5) alphabetical departments and one large investigation Unit.
