Georgy Kim (may 11, 1953, Alma-ATA) – statesman of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan – Chairman of the Committee on legal statistics and special records of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of justice from 2002 to 2003, candidate of legal Sciences.

Biography[edit]

Born on may 11, 1953 in Alma-ATA.

In 1974 he graduated from the Karaganda Higher school of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the Kazakh SSR, with a degree in law.

From 1 October 1970 to 2 June 1990 — Service in the internal Affairs bodies. Continuously 19 years 6 months 26 days (in Karaganda Higher school of the Ministry of internal Affairs of the USSR).

On June 2, 1990 he was appointed Advisor to the Presidential Council of the Kazakh SSR of the President of the Kazakh SSR.

On January 1, 1991 he was appointed senior referent of the State legal reference of the Office of the President of the Kazakh SSR.

Since July 1, 1991 — Senior referent of the State legal Department of the Office of the President of the Kazakh SSR and the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kazakh SSR.

From 2 July 1992 to 5 July 1995, he served as a judge of the constitutional court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From July 30, 1995 to March 18, 1997 — Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Kazakhstan on national policy.

From may 23, 1997 to November 17, 1997 — Deputy head of the Department of internal policy of the presidential Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since November 10, 1997 — Head of the Department of legislation of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From April 16, 1998 to December 1, 1999 — Deputy of the Senate of The Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since February 11, 2000 he has been Vice-Minister of justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since February 17, 2001 — Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Since October 15, 2001 — adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From January 29, 2002 to February 2003 — Minister of justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From February 2003 to March 2004 — Advisor to the President of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Commission on anti-corruption and ethics of civil servants under the President of Kazakhstan.

Since 30 March 2004, he has served as Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan — Chairman of the Committee on legal statistics and special records of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

On 3 September 2009, he was relieved of his post in connection with the transition to another job.

From 2009 to 2010 — Chairman of the Committee on judicial administration at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2011, at the first Congress of Private bailiffs G. V. Kim was elected Chairman of the Republican Board of private bailiffs of Kazakhstan.

In 2013 by the decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan he was appointed Deputy of the Senate of the V convocation. He is a member of the Senate Committee on foreign relations, defense and security.
