Fiveable is an online social learning platform in for students and teachers to engage after school through live-streamed lessons, interactive discussions, and supportive communities. In April 2017, 2Checkout was acquired by Avangate, an eCommerce payments and subscription billing platform for software, SaaS, and other digital solutions. [2] The combined corporation will use the 2Checkout name and will be led by Alex Hart, Chief Executive Officer of Avangate. Avangate’s notable clients include ABBYY, Absolute Software Corporation, Bitdefender, FICO, HPE Software, and Kaspersky Lab.

Wyzant was co-founded in 2005 by Princeton graduates Andrew Geant and Mike Weishuhn with $10,000 raised from family and friends.[4] In 2013, Accel Partners invested $21.5 million into Wyzant.[5]
In 2014, Wyzant had 80 employees and listed about 76,000 active tutors in its database.[4] It claims to have about 2 million registered users, from kindergarteners to PhD candidates.[6] In 2013, Wyzant claimed that its highest-paid tutor earned $120,000.[6] In 2014, the company claims to have booked $100 million in tutoring sessions and claims to have logged almost 2.5 million hours of instruction.[6]
Wyzant claims to teach more than 300 subjects online and in person to its users.[7]
In 2018, Wyzant ranked #6 on Indeed's list of top rated workplaces in Chicago.[8]
